updates on the life of a texaspeach

11/21/09

tp here. I haven't forgotten about you guys, don't worry. But I've plunged into the last three weeks of the semester and so have a lot of projects due that I, college student that I am, haven't finished yet. Two of those projects are due Monday (11/23) and the last is due the Wednesday after Thanksgiving Break (12/2). Add work into that and I haven't had any time to write lately. Don't worry though, it'll get done. You might just have to wait until the semester is over with.

Stories

Sic Veta Est Trilogy - DBZ
Thus Is Life

Alea Iacta Est (completed 23 March 2009)
The Die Is Cast
"During the final moments of the battle with Cell, something unexpected happens. After being catapulted not only across the galaxy but thirty years into the past, can Gohan find his way home without altering the future?"

According to Suetonius, Julius Caesar said "alea iacta est" in 49 BC upon crossing the Rubicon. This action plunged the Roman Empire into civil war; the Rubicon was the border of Gaul, the province where Caesar was allowed to keep his army, and when he crossed the river he was technically "invading" Italy. With this action, he had passed the point of no return. I felt that this was an appropriate title for the story - Gohan's mere presence in the past changed the future irrevocably and with his decisions later on, he will have truly passed the point of no return.

De Profundis (incomplete; started 1 June 2009)
From The Depths
"Now back in his own time, Gohan struggles to fit in with his family and friends after his experiences in the past. Will he try to lift himself out of his depression alone or accept the help of those who love him?"

"De profundis," or "from the depths," refers to drawing someone out of the depths of depression or misery. Gohan's experiences with Bardock and Raditz as well as his possession of Babadi have left deep marks in his mind, both good and bad. He has to struggle to come to terms with all that has happened and in doing so will try to raise himself from the depths of his depression.

Carpe Diem (incomplete; not started)
Seize The Day
"After defending the earth from aliens, traveling across the universe, getting thrown back in time, and being possessed, Gohan's mother has decided to make him face the biggest challege of all - high school."

Once I have a snazzy explanation like the other two, I'll post it up here. :)

Planned

Untitled - DBZ (incomplete; started 17 September 2009; no chapters published)
A "Torture Gohan" story. I've seen a bunch of badly written ones and now I want to try it. It's going to be mostly humor - I need something to balance out De Profundis, which is really angsty.

Pictures inspired by my stories:

2) Alea Iacta Est by Kisakun, colored by texaspeach (colored)
3) Alea Iacta Est, Chapter 22, pt. 1 by Takuma/SL-i-P
4) Bardock BLAST TO THE PAST by kidgoku13
5) Super Saiyan 3 Raditz by mrsaturn123 (Note: This wasn't drawn for the story, but I happened to find it while browsing someone's favorites and it was too perfect to pass up!)
