Nov. 7, 2007: Been having trouble lately, focusing on any one thing. I'm still working on my fanfiction and still have many new ones in the works which will take the place of the finished ones in the update queue. There are some adult things which will be posted elsewhere—the link will be provided when they are complete. For the most part, I'm going to hang onto some of my new works until I have a satisfactory amount of them done, because I don't much like feeling behind in updates and things like that.

I still write mostly Vincent/Tifa and now some Vincent/Veld. I'm interested in doing more, and I'm always wanting to try abstract concepts. I've been picking up Vincent's demons lately and the dynamics surrounding them. I've been known to indulge in a dark theme or two. I don't discriminate anymore when it comes to characters or even pairings, because there's always a tasteful option. I'll give anything a try, because I think that it's okay to not like something, but one should at least be able to say why. Same goes in reverse.

The compilation doesn't bother me, except in the places where it contradicts the original game. There are plenty of fascinating things to pick at and expand upon, and use for my own devices. So I will.

My writing is a mix of fantasy and realism. I love the fantastical elements in a story as much as the next person—this is what makes fiction an escape from reality. But characterization is important to me. Not just canon, and definitely not fanon, but a realistic portrayal of how someone would act, not necessarily in our world, but in some real dimension. Static and unchanging characters annoy me. So do stereotypes. I believe in a solid, big picture, but I also believe in bending things and making exceptions where they fit, because that's how real life happens. I'm just talking common sense—Cid has to be intelligent if he's in aeronautics. Vincent has to have a bigger reason than one woman to have slept for thirty years. Cause and effect. Just take everything into consideration, is all I'm saying. Read before you dismiss. Also, not all of my stories fit into the same universe, unless explicitly stated—that would be impossible. If certain things don't tickle your fancy, assume that they don't fit in with the stories you do like. You're probably right if you do, anyway.

I write in different universes sometimes. I like to try new things. Life experience has taught me that things aren't always black and white—I even catch myself by surprise sometimes, and I put a big part of myself into most of what I write, so that every piece—even the requests, and especially the gifts—turns out to be pretty personal and special to me.

Is anyone else annoyed when the site reformats old stories? I'm getting kind of tired of post-checking old things because I notice suddenly my paragraphs are all smooshed together and my page breaks are gone. Hmph.

I do, to an extent, admit that I am a head-case with neurotic tendencies. I am giving out free apologies.
