Author has written 42 stories for Yu-Gi-Oh, Inuyasha, Harvest Moon, GTO, Card Captor Sakura, Golden Sun, D N Angel, Vandread, Fushigi Yuugi, Misc. Anime/Manga, Angel Sanctuary, Flame of Recca, Gravitation, Fruits Basket, Code Geass, Mega Man, Gundam 00, Claymore, and Death Note. My real name and age are secrets. Why? Because. I know you're all stalkers out to find and worship me the moment you get your hands on my information. Conceit? Never heard of it. Anyways, you can call me by my username ProtoBlues, or any other names I use if you happen to know me from some other site or place (Sevoth, Siegfried, Agumon; whatever). In case you're wondering, it comes from the Megaman fandom (Protoman's Japanese name is Blues. Brilliant, ain't it?), which I was a part of years ago when I first joined ff.net. I've since parted with the fandom and have grown to despise the shallowness of the original series, but the name stuck around for a variety of reasons. I'm too lazy to make a new one (really, how many users does ff.net have? There's no way I can make up a good name), I'm used to it, and I'd like to think I have faithful readers who are also used to it.Ironically enough though, I'm not too big a fan of blues (as in the musical genre). Things about myself. I hate this part. That'd be the first thing. "What are three adjectives you would use to describe yourself?" is on my list of most hated questions. Maybe other people do, but I don't have a pre-established, clean-cut list of my characteristics. When I think of myself, it's simply me, not "intelligent, determined, and hard-working." By the way, none of that is true. I just like saying that during interviews and stuff because it sounds better than "smart aleck, hotheaded, and can sit in front of the computer/PS2 for eight hours." Okay, I lied. I totally believe the first one is true. Okay, fine, a proper introduction (though I won't promise it will be free of snarky commentary). I'm just a high school student with time to burn, which is why I write fanfiction. I'm afraid I can't say I think fanfiction's the best thing since sliced bread, or that writing's one of my favorite activities. I mean, I enjoy it. That's why I do it free of charge. It's fun, but it's not fun fun. Like playing Grand Theft Auto and blowing shit up. And with those informatively digressing few lines about my person, let's move onto me as a writer, shall we? Still annoying to write, but a bit less uncomfortable. Just have to be careful I don't accidentally let it slip that I have a superiority complex and think I'm better than all the other writ-- dammit. Anyways. I've been writing fanfiction for a while, and I delve into original fiction sometimes when I feel especially ambitious. My writing's improved a lot since back then (it's a bit of a pity I erased all traces of my terrible badfic past, because now I have no proof), but I still have plenty of problems. Probably my most obvious one is that I can't develop anything for my life, be it story or characters or film. Uh, ignore that last one. So I end up writing almost exclusively one-shots that are either character analyses (in essence, even though I tack on a bit of a story to it) or good old comedy. Most of my longer works are original fiction (which sit alone on my computer, they're all unfinished abominations), I guess mainly because if I like a show enough to write fanfiction about it, then it's got to have a pretty good and solid story. It's just hard to write an epic saga that stays within canon. I could do AU, but it's just not my cup of tea. Mainly because I feel like it's so close to original fiction, that you might as well write original fiction. Leave the copyright material alone. Also, characters and pairings. For the most part, I stick to the characters and pairings I like. Because they're the ones that interest me. Every once in a while, I do write about characters I don't particularly like (see Of Course and Stringless Marionette. And no, of course this isn't shameless pimpage), but only because I've been struck by a muse. Or at least a really, really good character analysis written by someone else (it's not plagarism if I change everything to first person perspective!). Currently, I'm rooted pretty heavily in the Code Geass fandom. Most of my fics which are still up are for CG. I dabble every once in a while into other fandoms, and I'd like to do it more often, but CG seems to have such a magnetic pull. I guess it's partly because it has way too many lovable characters and not enough screentime for any of them. Aside from Nina. Nina should've died two season ago. Also, requests. You can make a request. Whether I'll accept it or not depends on a variety of reason - whether I like your characters/pairings, whether I have the free time, whether I'm in a good mood, and most importantly, whether I have a good idea for a fic. P.S. If you give me a request with a general plot summary, it'd increase your chances of getting a fic. And lastly, reviewing. I like getting reviews, although I'd really prefer if you said something unique to that fic -- what you liked or disliked in particular. And I'd like to say that I write completely for the sake of writing and if you don't offer contructive criticism, I'd rather you not comment at all. However, that's not really true. I write for both the sake of writing and for a response from an audience. So in essence, I like to feel that a story I wrote was successful by high review counts, but I'd love you for eternity (or until I'm distracted by something shiny) if you would say something meaningful. All that being said, here's a list of fics I'm working on. It's in approximate order of upload, the quickest being on the bottom. Some of them have already been uploaded and are multi-chaptered (it's just on the list to assure you it's not dead yet), and some are still just on my computer and you're getting an exclusive two sentence sneak peak. I have such pwnz0r marketing skillz. Untitled (Code Geass) - One last meeting between the three court ladies, as they each come to terms with Zero's identity and choose their paths. Post-turn-19-ish. There are some facts that may be a bit off, so while this is actually finished, it's not getting posted until I re-marathon Code Geass and check everything. And that...might take quite a while. Untitled (Code Geass) - loosely connected conversations between C.C. and Kallen. Four conversations done, but not being uploaded just yet. Will start uploading once I think up a title, I guess. Untitled (Code Geass) - Lelouch is his usual roundabout way, C.C. in her usual coy way. Post-turn-21-ish. Trademark (Code Geass) - "Cornelia goes a day without lipstick and the court falls to shambles." Almost done; just need a bit more that I don't feel like writing. Another Time (Code Geass) - "A dance between two kindred souls which might've worked in another time, another place." Gino x Milly x Lelouch. Almost finished. Untitled (Code Geass) - A discussion between C.C. and Suzaku, post-series. Untitled (Code Geass) - Four days that C.C. spends mourning over Lelouch. Partly during turn 25, partly after. This should probably end up a bit long, and I decided to cram symbolism into it, so this might take a while. Notices 10/12/08: I've actually forgotten that I made a poll until a reviewer mentioned it. It also took me quite a while to figure out what the hell he was talking about. But now that I remember... Here's another poll for you guys! 7/27/08: It's a month into summer vacation, and I have now officially gotten sick and tired of all my video games. So Imma go and buy some more. No, actually, I decided to revamp my profile with the spare time. So, a round of applause for the brand new...paragraph form! Whee! Why do I get the feeling that I'm a failure as a writer for not bothering to write in paragraphs for the four years I've been here? 6/30/08: I'm going to be taking a break from fanfiction due to some personal issues. I'm not sure for how long; it can range from two weeks to two months. So please bear with me if I ignore your PM's or something (on an unrelated, childish note: lulz, PMS). I might be able to continue writing, or at least have plot bunnies running through my head, during the time but I probably won't be uploading stuff. 6/7/08: The "soon to come" section is now back, with a new name and a shitload of fics. Thinking back on my "one chapter of one story a month!" thing when I first started writing, I've actually become pretty dedicated to my work. Oh, and ignore the insane amount of fics entitled Untitled. I'm one of those batshit insane people who title their stories only when inspiration suddenly strikes. I've also deleted my older fics, which are a huge embarassment to me, and also my C2 archive. I feel a bit bad about doing it, since I deleted it without any warning to the subscribers. However, I felt that the Shaman King fandom was pretty much dead anyways, and I wasn't going to update the archive any time soon, and the C2 function is pretty pointless if you don't get up-to-date alerts because you can just search up the characters' names. So yeah. That's my justification. Also, All stories marked as being beta-read by Twilight Sazuka are actually Misty Nite. She changed her username, and I don't want to edit all my fanfics. avatar by LiveJournal member cassu_beans. | |||||||||||
