Author has written 15 stories for Rurouni Kenshin, and hack/SIGN. MOST RECENT UPDATE 2/24/09 ~ the road home I still write fics, but haven't shared them online because I'm a lot pickier about it now. I've definately switched interests/fandoms: I am utterly obsessed with Sasuke/Naruto. Their relationship is so complicated, painful, yet strangely eternal even though they've "parted ways". All of what I write now is about them. They are my second OTP. I still like Kenshin/Tomoe, but the fire isn't there, ya know? When I want to switch it up I might go back to writing about them. Especially since many years have passed, my fics about them might be interestingly different (hopefully better, but possibly not). So along this vein, I recently just published two drabbles I had written for them in 2007. Okay. Concerning... Adoration. -headdesk- People don't care anymore, but I'm sorry I could not satisfy them with an ending while they did care! I know how sucky it is when an author can't finish the damn story. I'm a lot older now and I can remember the ending I planned, but it is SO HORRIBLE plot-wise, I just... blech. But here it is, prepare to be disillusioned: -So, last we heard that crazy doctor lady was planning to poison Kenshin (and Ami). -Ami gets a prophetic dream warning her of danger involving Kenshin. (the messenger of the dream may very well be, subtly, Tomoe.) -Ami is too shy to talk about the dream because she already feels she has badgered Kenshin enough about leaving as soon as possible. But because of her misgivings she starts carrying her dagger around. -Nephew isn't comfortable with the plan... something in his actions attracts both Ami and Kenshin's attention. However, Kenshin only confronts him the night of the dinner. At the same time, Ami, having realized crazy doctor lady's plot, follows her into the kitchen and watches her prepare the poisonous plants to dice into their food. Ami gets up her courage and confronts her. Crazy doctor lady snaps and starts saying unforgivable things about Kenshin and Ami, many of which dig into Ami's fears of being separated from him. Doctor lady now tries to physically restrain Ami and lock her away, not thinking clearly, because Kenshin would surely look for Ami before sitting down to the meal. Ami isn't thinking clearly either; at the thought of being separated from Kenshin as he dies, she pulls out her knife. There is a flurry of confusion and she ends up cutting the woman. Doctor lady screams, and Kenshin and Nephew run in to see Ami on her knees on the floor holding the knife in front of her, and when Kenshin sees the blood, he feels a sinking in the pit of his stomach. -Doctor Lady is rendered harmless. She is utterly drained. She's not a bad woman, but she's what Tomoe could have been concerning getting revenge. Kenshin visits her and they talk briefly, during which Doctor Lady taunts him with knowledge of Tomoe. She has not let go of her hate, but like saner people, she knows she has to deal with it and not act out murder. By thinking of Tomoe, Kenshin is reminded of tragedy and the danger that surrounds him. He decides Ami cannot stay with him any longer, and writes to the rich family they stayed with earlier, the couple who was childbarren. -The house is a little fuller with people; Nephew is fully repentant and he has gathered a few people in town (friends, daughters of friends) to help look after his aunt. Meanwhile, Kenshin goes to visit Ami, who is recuperating in bed from the panic. He does not go near her bed, because he doesn't want to see her up close when he tells her the news. Ami is very worried Kenshin disapproves of her because of what she did with the knife, but she tries to act like nothing happened. Her nervousness only solidifies Kenshin's belief she does not belong with him. He tells her he's leaving her, and that he sent the letter for the rich couple to come get her. Ami is in utter shock and is on the verge of a breakdown. In the doorway, she sees Crazy Doctor Lady, who has gotten out of bed to watch. Ami is at her wits end, feeling worthless, outcast, and tries to direct her self-hate onto the doctor lady, screaming "I hate you". Kenshin believes she is saying it to him, and soberly, he leaves. Ami doesn't realize that he thinks she said it to him; besides that, she is blinded by tears, and the village helpers surround her trying to calm her, as well as put Doctor Lady back to bed. Ami lies there, her thoughts numbing to cope, before she snaps and struggles her way out of bed and the house, running after Kenshin, though she does not know which direction he took. She has to give up and she falls, brokenhearted. Meanwhile, Kenshin keeps walking. From then on Ami is sent to live with the barren couple... and that's the end of that. LOL CRAPPY ENDING, but this was basically my Mary-Sue fanfic even though there was no chance in hell Ami can get who she wants. So it was pretty plotless in the first place. The ending is one of the main reasons I could not make myself complete the story as I got older... I just couldn't do it, and I couldn't figure out a better one without having to really lengthen the story. So there you go, all of you who followed Adoration. Sorry for the fail. ANYWAY. Aside from the occassional K/T fic, this account is pretty much dead! BUT WAIT! I am really considering posting Sasuke/Naruto multichapter fic here (I have 2 that I've been working on). That is pretty different from the old stuff I used to write, so it won't make you happy anyway. So when you suddenly start getting alerts to these weird Naruto fics, that's why. I was debating on creating a new ff.net account for it, but it's not worth the effort, I think. Just a heads up in the future. But you know, if you really want K/T fic, you can always... I don't know... request it. Review a story and give me a request inside it. Actually now that I think about it, writing a K/T AU might be fun. But that wouldn't be for quiiite a while. SasuNaru first, at least for 10 chapters. And Adoration was the only story I felt guilty about not completing, but that other one with Sanosuke x Kaoru x Enishi love triangle + Tomoe/Shinta plot was strangely popular even though I only posted a freaking prologue. If people clamor for it, maybe I'll put in effort for that one too. Though I'd have to BS about blindness and surgery and stuff, because I do not want to have to research all that... and that's a real turn off, because writing badfic is baaad. I don't know. Well, that's the update as to what this author is up to after so many years. ttyl | |||||||||
