Hey all, this is Anisky! I've been a member of FF.N for, wow, ten years now. I can't believe it's been ten years.
I'm a 21-year-old redhead, just graduated from the first time in my LIFE (I failed to graduate middle school, high school, or get my Associate's when I was supposed to, but I am now the proud owner of a BA! Or, well, A. B. as my oh-so-pretentious college likes to call them. It's the proper Latin, or something. The upshot: I am now the proud owner of a 200,000 piece of paper! Score!). Besides writing, I love to travel, and I'm currently going through medical clearance for Peace Corps. If all goes well, I'm off to Africa in November; but usually all does not go well, so I may be here with you for up to a year.
My main fandoms (for reading) are currently: Harry Potter, Labyrinth, Peter Pan, Silence of the Lambs, and Phantom of the Opera.
I write quasi-regularly in the Labyrinth and Harry Potter fandoms, but besides that I tend to write fics all over the board-- oddly, often for shows that I don't particularly like (such as Lizzie McGuire and 7th Heaven). I've written a Big Love femmeslash... I have a Hook/Wendy started, but it's just hanging out on my hard drive since I don't have a particular idea for it and I prefer to have a strong, original plot to a story before I post it, or at least have a strong emotional theme to the story (as in A Time For Heroes), and right now I have neither.
I am also working on a fanfiction in the Madeleine L'Engle world where Polly and Vicky meet because really, it's a tragedy that they haven't. (And, well... now it'll never happen. teardrop) However, it won't be Polly/Vicky, as it's been pretty well established that Polly is not a lesbian, and call me silly but I'm trusting Max on that one. (Then again, I don't really think lesbians have some infallible radar device, so who knows.) There aren't any Madeleine L'Engle-related categories here, though, so I may wait a while before posting, until a lot of it has been written.
My favorite pairings are: Severus/Hermione, loads of HP femmeslash (Ginny/Luna is a big one, and I'm working on a Hermione/Penelope fic), Sarah/Heather, Jareth/Sarah, Wendy/Hook, Erik/Christine, and Hannibal/Clarice. What? You see a pattern emerging here? Nonsense I tell you, nonsense! See! Femmeslash! That's not a dark much older man with a younger smart but innocent girl!
I love concrit. I hate to think that all of the good reviews I get are because everyone here is afraid that someone will throw a hissy fit if they get any negative reviews, even if they're polite and constructive; and here I swear that I won't get angry if you point to aspects you think need improvement; on the contrary, I'll probably be delighted. (But please still review even if you can't think of any concrit. ;) It's nice just to know that there are people out there reading!)
