Author has written 12 stories for Yu-Gi-Oh, and Lord of the Rings.

I'm both old and new here. I first began writing fics under the name Katya in 2001-2. That account was deactivated in 2003, and thus, this one was born! All but one of my old stories have been reposted. That one story is completely lost, though :( I fell completely out of the YGO fandom in 2003-4, and didn't look back until May of this year...I still can't completely explain how I fell back into it after so long, but I'm rolling with it and it DOES feel great to be writing again!

My new stories start with His Other Half. My writing style has changed a LOT since 2004, as has the content of my stories (definitely for the better, if I may say so...I'm not a huge fan of my old works). I am still a fan of Yugi, but I draw inspiration from more than just him now.

Fandom: Yu-Gi-Oh! (original series/Duel Monsters; I'm really not a fan of the spin-offs)

Favorite pairings: Puzzleshipping, Rivalshipping and Prideshipping (if it's well done)

One note I'd like to make regarding Puzzleshipping: It has always seemed to me that Yugi and Yami, particularly in the Japanese episodes that don't have their dialogue 4Kids-ed, share a very deep emotional bond. Whether that bond is romantic or not is up to each person to decide, but their bond goes way beyond the normal bounds of friendship, in my opinion.

About my general writing: I don't usually write outright romance stories. I'm a bit awkward with it, to be honest, though I love reading stories that are heavily romantic. Even my stories that have an "official" pairing are extremely mild. One of these days, I plan on pushing myself out of that box, but that day hasn't arrived just yet.

Depending on what I feel like writing about, I could stick to/build on canon or go way, way off. It just depends on the inspiration!

I also generally stick to angst in varying degrees. I also love READING angst. Give me good, hardcore emotional drama - particularly Yugi-centric - and I'm happy as a clam. ;) However, I love seeing the humor in the show. Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged is one of the funniest 'net shows I've ever seen, and I adore it. There's a lot of crack in the show WITHOUT help from YGOTAS, though, and I think it makes it all the more fun to laugh at it. :D

On-going projects: To The Victor Go The Spoils

Completed stories/one-shots (current): His Other Half, Somnium Atrum, Quisnam Sum Quisnam Es

Old stories (in order of my own preference): Void of Tears, Running Again, Stuck in the Limelight, Angelus Fletus Est, Contra Ipsum (discontinued), Boku wa Natsukashimu Desu (discontinued), Halloween Insanity (first fic ever; lots of crack and silliness. Read at your own risk!), Rima Ai Peredhil (my one and only foray into a non-YGO fandom)

Below are the two notes I put in here, just for posterity's sake.

5/30/2009 - As strange as this may sound to any of you who remember me from way back when, I'm back. I fell back into the world of YGO somehow (I'm still trying to get my head around it, myself), and subsequently found my inner fanfictionist waking up again.

I have no idea how long this new streak will last, or the affinity for YGO that came on me so fast, after so many years of not caring. Stranger things have happened, I suppose! Anyway, I will not be able to pick up my old stories...I don't remember enough of my original plotlines to continue those that were left incomplete. Not to mention that my writing style has changed, so it'd probably be really weird anyway. I WILL, however, fix the strange formatting problems that some of the chapters seem to have picked up. Apologies about that!

Anyway, it's both good and strange to be back. Hopefully I'll get to know some of the unfamiliar faces I see!

And a huge thank you to those of you who have reviewed my stories in my absence. I did receive notifications about them, and I was really touched. :)

~Katya

--Sometime in 2004...

I'm sorry to say this, but I am no longer writing. I have lost my interest for YGO and writing fanfiction altogether. I will not update any more of my stories. I'm very sorry to let you all down. I know I hated it when authors dropped off the face of the earth without finishing their work. But I can't write if I don't have a love for what I'm writing about. I wish all of you the best of luck in writing your own stories. And I apologize again. It was fun while it lasted. Thank you all for your support. If you still wish to leave reviews, by all means, do so. I will still receive them :). You guys were so good to me, and I had a blast when I was here. Rock on, guys. And keep writing! Thank you, Katya
