Author has written 18 stories for Rurouni Kenshin, Bible, StarTrek: Deep Space Nine, Naruto, Cowboy Bebop, and Death Note. Hello! My name is Melody and I am a college student(Human Services)in Southern California. I am a huge fan of Star Trek and Rurouni Kenshin as well as several other animes. The site above is not mine, but the Meiji Tales Forum, to which I belong. My penname comes from a devotion called the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, written by St. Maria Faustina Kowalska.: "Oh God, in Whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your Mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair, nor grow despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to your Holy Will, which is Love and Mercy itself. Amen." This prayer works wonders! Favorite film Quotes:"Someone once told me that time is a predator that stalks us all our lives, but I believe that time is a companion, who accompanies us on a journey, and reminds us to treasure every moment, for it will never come again."~Picard, ST:Generations "After a time you may find that having is not always so good a thing as wanting. It is illogical, but often true." ~Spock, ST:TOS, Amok Time "Standing on the edge between life and death, I have decided to hold onto life. I shall consider all of it precious, and never lose the will to live again." ~Kenshin, RK "A sword is a weapon. Kenjutsu is learning how to kill. Kaoru-dono's words are sweet and innocent talk that only those whose hands have never been stained by the blood of men can believe. However, this one much prefers her sweet and innocent talk to the true reality. If one could so ask, this one would have the world accept it as the reality." ~Kenshin, RK "Cherry blossoms are beautiful while they are out, but they are also beautiful when they are falling." ~Samurai X: Reflection (Seisou Hen) "Both you and I are marked with scars which won't fade; these are scars which cross one another, carved into our lives." ~Kaoru, Seisou Hen Can you tell I like shows in which the characters launch into profound speeches? Ever since I started writing regularly, Kenshin appears in my dreams. He asks me pitifully "Melody-dono, please don't make sessha do these things..." I am starting to feel guilty when I sit down at my computer... He also has a regular request to give him more scenes with "Kaoru-dono", but lately all I've been inspired to write is a mix of humor and angst. Sorry Kenshin, I love you but I can't do it. The truth is writing all this angst helps make me a much more cheerful person in real life. The Smile - WAFFiest thingI have written. Deals with Kenshin and Kaoru and the meaning of unconditional love. Baka Deshi- A sweet moment in the life of young Kenshin. Innocence- My personal favorite. The cool thing about RK is that it teaches that the capacity for good exists within all human beings. No matter how much we have sinned, the soul is inextinguishable. That is the theme of this fic, in which the goodness of the Hitokiri Battousai is seen through the eyes of the innocent. To say more would spoil a surprise at the beginning. It's still unfinished, and believe me, there will be a very definite ending. My Date With the Battousai's Daughter-Rewritten and Reposted! I like it much better now. Wacky Jidouhanbaiki- Semi-random but funny. :shrugs: Aku Soku Zan- What I'd like to happen to all Mary Sues! Several of my wonderful reviewers apparently agree. What You Leave Behind- My foray into the paranormal. It's also my most major attempt with an original character. I swear she's not a Mary Sue. How many Mary Sues are forty and have love handles? Emotion: A Waltz Without Dancing- I know it sounds crazy, but the idea wouldn't leave me alone... I just had this image of Spike meeting Kenshin... Besides my RK fics, I wrote a poem on the Eucharist. Please read it, even if you aren't Catholic, it's the best thing I've ever written and it expresses feelings very dear to me.
