Why Gammara?
I like turtles ... like Gamera, the giant turtle who ends up as Godzilla's friend. When I first entered the web arena, Gamera was taken, so ... the sci-fi sounding Gammara was born. Gamma is a Greek word; in fact, it's the equivalent of "G" in their alphabet. And Ra is a deity to the Egpytians; the sun god. Am I into Greek language and Egyptian mythology? Not really. Greek is ... well ... Greek to me. And although I like Egyptian mythology, I don't know nearly enough about it.

I like MST3K, which is kinda how Gammara was born. If the words "Gamera is really neat. Gamera's made of turtlemeat" sang by Crow T. Robot and Tom Servo tickle your fancy, you're probably just as geeky as me.

What else do I like besides turtles and puns?
I also like science fiction of all types - Blake's 7, Dr. Who, Firefly, Star Trek TOS (especially TOS!),Enterprise, etc. Favorite characters in these are: Avon (Blake's 7), Spock (TOS), Data and Picard (TNG), Jayne (Firefly) and Archer (Enterprise). Is there a pattern? I don't know; I like dark, brooding characters who have a "past." Chicks in science fiction aren't always as good, but a few of my favorites are Soolin (Blake's 7), Jadzia Dax (DS9), all the women in Firefly are very interesting and T'Pol (Enterprise). BSG is a little over the top, but most of the women are interesting in that one.

A sucker for romance?
No. I think it's unneeded many times. However, I do think if romance is explored it should be interesting, entertaining and have a - well - romantic or gallant quality to it. I kinda like Archer/T'Pol from Enterprise for that reason. I don't begrudge others for liking another couple.

Feel free to leave me feedback. One thing I'm trying to do is become a better writer. I do ask that you sign-in only because of a few lunkheads. Don't hesitate to send me an e-mail for criticisms you'd like to leave me, but don't want others to see.

Thanks and happy reading for all the good stuff that's on the entire site!
