Author has written 18 stories for Final Fantasy VII.
The writer: has returned to the land of the living. >D

My name is Rene, I'm twenty-oneyears old, and I was born in the season of the pumpkin.

The people who live in her head:

Simon Hojo...
I guess it's pretty obvious I adore Hojo of FF VII, even if I do sometimes write fics where he does awful things.

Hojo and I just have this odd... 'relationship' if that's the word for it. I love him to pieces, and hate it when he's bastardized as he is in most fanfictions, but then again I often write him quite sadistic myself.

I guess what really irks me is when he seems to have been added as an afterthought to a fic, as a two-dimensional cardboard-cutout of a villain whom has no real purpose other than to serve a a boogeyman to the other characters.

Hojo's rather complicated. I'm not going to deny that he did a lot of unethical and immoral things. I know he was no saint, and I don't want to pretend otherwise. But he had reasons behind everything he did.

I don't think Hojo would do something just... 'sadistic' unless it would some how either benefit his science or there was a purpose to it. I think if there were ever a man who took 'the end justifies the means' seriously, it was Hojo. And some people wouldn't understand that. That's fine. But he always had a reason for everything he did, that's what I'm trying to get at.

When I write Hojo, he pretty much just does what he wants. He is one of those characters that 'writes themselves'. That sometimes results in... strangeness, but he generally stays in character. In the fics where he is portrayed more as the man than the scientist, you can see a little bit of what makes him tick.

Hojo has been my main man since I was thirteen years old, and I don't intend to give him up anytime soon. Expect to see more fics that feature him.

Lucrecia Hojo...
Yes. Lucrecia is married to Hojo in my arc of stories. I know there was not really any evidence in the game that says they were married, but nothing says they weren't either. So there, people who leave reviews telling me that I'm 'a stupid' who doesn't know that 'Vincent and Lucrecia were like dating and stuff, and then Hojo like experimented on her and stuff, yah.'

Lucrecia is... a hard character for me to write. You see, Lucrecia as I write her has a mind of her own, and as Hojo will generally write himself, Lucrecia is often more stubborn, just like her personality.

I don't see Lucrecia as an 'Angel' or 'Saint'... I don't really see her as a victim either. To me Lucrecia is just a woman who made some decisions that turned out to not be what she had dreamed of. I think she willingly participated in the JENOVA Project, and even if she did get cold feet towards the end, I think she honestly believed what she was doing was right.

I wish Lucrecia would be more cooperative so I could finish Points...

Vincent Valentine...
Ah Vincent. He has also been one of my main men for quite sometime, but I don't feel as connected with him as I do with Hojo. Vincent's fun to write sometimes, but it's hard to keep him in character without making him out to be incredibly whiny.

I don't really want to contribute to the already vast sea of depressing Vincent monologues, but sometimes I can't help myself.

I usually tend to have him in stories with Hojo or Lucrecia, just to work some action into things and not have him just sit and angst. Angst is good, don't get me wrong, and I've seen beautiful examples of it; but I love dialogue. I'm not much for internal reveries, probably because I can't write them convincingly.

Vincent's personality is just... Vincent. Homogenized Vincent, like in most of the serious fics that feature him.
I guess that's why I don't find him as fun to write as Hojo or Lucrecia; because he's already a pretty well established character who doesn't really need to be fleshed out the way I did with Hojo and Lucrecia.
And being so established also leaves less room for artistic license, I feel. No offense to any Vincent fans of course. I just find him cumbersome to write for, but if I didn't love him I wouldn't bother.

The people she admires:

Darknightdestiny...
She is the whole reason I came to fanfiction.net in the first place. Her fics are beautiful, with such intricate detail it sometimes leaves my mouth wide open. She's very organised when it cames to writing as well, something I admire. She commits herself to a fic and won't rest til it's done, something else I find amazing. Talent and drive, what a combination. I wish I had half the commitment to a project that she does...

Sephiroth1Ripley8...
Heh. She's just... amazing. Twisted and funny, and the person I most often stay on AIM all night with. She also adores Hojo, and anyone who likes him as much as I do is definitely tops in my book.
She's also a great writer, and was the one who led to the creation of the 'Sarcastic' fics. We were just kidding about the AeriSeph and Yuffentine fans kidnapping her baby brother. Everything else was true though. Honest.

Beautifully Twisted...
I ran across this master of the HojoXVincent pairing just a few weeks ago. Mega talented, and a self-proclaimed angst-whore.
I rather enjoy reading HojoXVincent yaoi, although I am not talented enough to write it myself, and when I came across 'Save your Kisses' I was instantly hooked. She's a sublime artist as well. This woman bleeds talent.

Random things about the writer:

You really don't want to know. :P
