Author has written 10 stories for Harry Potter, and Chronicles of Narnia.

12 Simple Rules...for accepting Constructive Criticism, because I'm still gonna give it, and because everyone needs it.

1. Be descriptive about everyone and everything but your OC.
2. Keep canon characters in-character!
3. Grammar. Learn it. If you're writing, then there's no excuse as to why you shouldn't know grammar.
4. Vocabulary. Expand it. If you're writing, then there's no excuse as to why you shouldn't have a sizeable vocabulary.
5. Spellcheck. Use it. If you're typing, then there's no excuse as to why you shouldn't employ it.
6. Mary-Sues are a part of growing as a writer. So if you're being told that your character is a Mary-Sue, then listen to the criticism, doctor up said Mary-Sue, and change her eye color back to a shade that is natural in genetics.
7. Names. My pet peeve. Keep those names realistic. Keep those Tolkien-inspired names over in the LotR section. They're ridiculously recognizable. And I'm pretty sure that Draco Malfoy will never have a girlfriend named Earenya Twilightmoon. And those Chronicles of Narnia fics? Use those classical names like "Allison" over their contemporary "Alyssa." The setting is older England/mythical world, not post-1985 American society. And spelling! Don't make me roll my eyes. If you insist on using names like "Aubrey", keep them spelled traditionally, because "Aubree" is just soooo...no. This doesn't seem to be a big deal to some readers or writers, but I find jarring names as stubborn laziness for authors who refuse to take note of a detailed setting.
8. Remember your plot! Even if your plot is a romance centering around canon male /OC, make sure there's something else going on besides being kissy-kissy, because a lot of intelligent readers tread lightly on such romances.
9. If I pick something out, and you respond to my review giving me excuses (er...reasons) as to why you did what you did...then update your story and explain to your other readers what you explained to me! If your character is from 1970 and you're writing in 2006 and I catch that mistake, and you tell me that "oh, I thought it would be cool to write that, it's apart of the AU", then let your other readers know that by telling us that in an Author's Note!
10. (A/N: these are the root of all evil.) Don't do these in the middle of your story It totally takes away from the story--like an interruption in the TV show or movie you're watching by some whiny, crying kid in the room. If there's something so awesome that you want your readers to know, then tell us in the Author's Notes that lie before or after the story itself.
11. I assume that you publish to improve your writing. If not, then you should.
12. Appreciate those long, constructive reviews. Like, a lot.

-->Peace out, homies, for now and forever. If you need me, shoot me a PM, I'll still get back to you. If the above is beneficial, then I applaud you.
