If you are reading my fanfic, The Moment It Began, it may interest you to check out my Cafe Press shop at http://www.cafepress.com/sindie and look through the products I have to offer for this story! It features original artwork by LilyHBP and me, which would show your support for the Severus/Lily pairing if you wear one of these shirts proudly!
About me:
Happily-married, 28-year-old Potter-holic (or more like Snape-holic). Love to read and write. In real life, I do research in kidney cancer. If you want to know more, visit my website.
I am an avid Snape fan. I have been since 2003. Now that we've got the truth in Deathly Hallows, I'm very happy to know that I was right about him being good and having loved Lily. Ninety-nine perfect of the fanfiction I read it about Snape. I am picky.

Thank you to all who have graciously volunteered to translate my fic!
As of August 2008, this fic is two-thirds of the way done. I'm expecting it to be around 150 chapters (including an epilogue). Some people have already inquired if there will be a sequel, and as of right now, I'm not planning on that. This story will cover everything I wish for it.
Also, I would like to point out that I am American, not British. I do try to be aware of the differences between American and British English when writing, especially dialogue, but this is not always easy. I don't have my stories Brit-picked. It would be highly unnatural for me to write using British English. I realize the story takes places in Great Britain, but just because it takes place there doesn't mean I need to write using British English. It would be like me needing to write a story in French that takes place in France.

About writing:
I loathe poor grammar, punctuation, spelling, etc. in stories. If you're going to write, please get a beta reader if you're not sure of yourself to edit your fic. Also, poorly developed stories in general with no plot... Please, I understand you may be an aspiring writer, and I certainly don't want to discourage anyone, but if you're new at this and unsure of yourself, please get a beta reader for content as well! I also hate overuse of swear words. It detracts from the content and makes you seem less intelligent if you can't come up with something better than using the F-word in every way possible: noun, adverb, verb, adjective.
For reviews, constructive criticism is preferred. There is never any reason to rip apart someone as a person if you don't like what they've written. Encourage them; don't discourage them. Offer your help and input. If you're a writer, don't let a flamer discourage you from writing! I've learned in the ten years I've been writing fanfiction that you're going to come across people who are just plain rude. While you can't control them, you can control your reaction. You will improve the more you write, so keep at it! To be a good writer, you also need to read a lot, and I don't just mean fanfiction. Read the classics. Discuss them with others. Use a dictionary and a thesaurus when you write. Have an ending in mind as you write, for this will be your goal to attain.
What I love in Snape fanfiction:
1. Believable representation of the character, meaning that he isn't suddenly changed into his anti-persona. Snape can be written as being in love or being kinder, but please, keep him in character! If you plan on him going through life-altering changes, it needs to take time and be developed over many chapters. Don't insult this brilliant character by ruining him!
2. Snape in love... with Lily! This is my newest craze, especially since it is canon, and I very much wish Snape would have wound up with Lily.
3. Snape in love... with Hermione! Yes, this is my guilty pleasure and was my favorite pairing before Deathly Hallows. I still enjoy these stories, as I know it's completely uncanon, but the stories (and there are so many out there) are still plausible and well-written.
4. Snape as a father-figure (preferably not actually biologically) or a mentor to Harry. I like friendship fics or ones where they reconcile, even if it's after Snape's death and it's Snape's portrait. I always hoped Harry would see Snape for who he really is, and I was so happy he did at the end of Deathly Hallows.
5. Snape's portrait or remembrance stories about him after his death.
What I hate in Snape fanfiction:
1. Slash. I don't like it, period. Please understand that I have no problem with people being gay or people liking slash, but for me, it does nothing. I just can't imagine Snape as gay, I'm sorry.
2. Snape is evil. No, absolutely not. He can have shades of grey, or if it's about his dark Death Eater days, but then there's the redemption, then okay. But he is not evil!
3. (There other things are pet peeves and may seem silly to you.) Fics where Snape cuts his hair short or loses his hair (No! His hair needs to stay long!), smokes (Disgusting!), grows a beard (Ugh! Reminds me of those awful drawings in the American versions of Snape!), or grows a paunch (Snape is skinny! Alan Rickman may have a bit of an older man's paunch, but canon Snape is thin, damn it!).
About my fanfiction:
I've been writing fanfiction since 1998, but I also write poetry. My website has a lot more information on Harry Potter, including all my fanfics, fanart, videos, etc. There is also info about who I am, some poetry, artwork, photography, and many other things. I started with Aladdin fanfiction, but that has since been removed from the Internet. I'm rather embarrassed by my earlier attempts. I started writing Harry Potter fic in 2003, and that has been my only interest worth writing fic on ever since. I'm also working on an original story. My goal one day is to be a published author.
