Author has written 9 stories for Harry Potter. 06-02-08 A lot of people have written to me and asked whether I will ever update my Veela story or if it has been abandoned. First of all, let me reassure you and tell you that it has not been abandoned. When I began to write Not Your Usual Veela Mate I was still a young author, and, to tell you the truth, I didn’t know the first thing about writing. As a result, I skipped a lot of small details, obsessing with chapter lengths and whatnot, thinking that those details didn’t matter much. But as the story progressed and I grew as a writer, I came to realize that some of those details did matter, and very much so. So I got stumped. Should I simply ignore the plot holes created when I went on with the story and hadn’t included those details? Or should I go back and revise what I had already written and published? For a long time I vacillated back and forth, never coming to a decision, and then I fell into a period when I was unable to write anything, and when I got back it was easier to write on other things than my Veela story. So... Not Your Usual Mate was put on the backburner. But do not despair, I got to reading parts of it the other day when I didn’t have anything to read and I wasn’t in the mood to put words to screen. And I discovered what a fantastic story I’ve got here. I can fully understand that you are impatient for an update, grin. Since I’ve more or less forgotten what I have written, I need to re-read the entire story carefully to get into the swing of things again. And since the language isn’t the best, I plan on spending the summer re-writing and polishing up the chapters I’ve posted before continuing on with the story. This means that an update is in the wind. But I do not plan on starting to update until August/September depending on how smoothly things are going, (and whether Real Life will leave me alone or not.) I hope this will put all of you at ease.
