My real name's Erin. I love Les Mis. I love adorable people like Raoul and Marius, but I also have a massive love for evil and hot people like Montparnasse and Edward Hyde. I'm a semi-lurking member of The Rabid Admirers of Underrated Lovers, or R.A.O.U.L. Society. I also currently claim to be boycotting Andrew Lloyd Webber, considering he's an unspeakable jerk and hack, but I can't help singing a little "I Only Want to Say" here and there.

Now it's time to talk about ~Les Mis~!
The characters in general: I love almost all of them. Enjolras and Gavroche annoy me, and I get skeeved out by Thenardier, but the rest I'm a fan of, Book!verse. Musical!verse is completely different, but we won't discuss that here.
Montparnasse owns me. No, really. Look at my fic. Thus far, I've developed two Montys for the sake of fanfic. Jules Montparnasse is the "Charmer of the Shadows" version who loved Eponine but had trouble sorting out his feelings, the little cutie. Then there's Marcel, who hasn't really defined himself completely, but has a tendency to be quite evil. So far he's starred in a few one-shots and (spoiler) "For My Son." And you might notice that I think Montparnasse has sexy hands. Don't ask, just go with it. Long, slender, tapered, ivory... you know. Sexy hands. And high cheekbones. And, and... well, suffice it to say that he's hot. So. very. hot.
Eponine is okay with me, Book!verse. And as long as she's ugly and at least kind of crazy, she's fine in fanfic too. It's when she starts having weirdly uncanon relationships with males like Marius and Enjolras that she starts getting on my nerves. And when a narrator has a character suddenly see her original beauty or whatever. Eponine is a butterface, guys; let's get that straight right now. And don't start quoting Marius-and-Eponine-in-the-Field-of-the-Lark at me, because Marius was a dreamy little thing, and Hugo wasn't exactly describing conventional beauty in that scene, either. Wanna debate? I can debate with you.
I call Thenardier 'Etienne' because I think it's a good name for him. Also, he's gross and I hate him, but... in the way that Hugo wants you to hate him, so it's not like I want him to die or anything. He's just gross. And while we're chatting about bandits, let me add that I like the idea of Babet as kind of a strange father figure to Montparnasse, and I always picture him as the Babet from the TAC. That guy rocks. Claquesous scares me like Thenardier, except he's less... visible. I dunno. I love Gueulemer because he's ignored and needs a hug. I like to call him Gueuly. But you didn't need to know that. Also, Azelmafic tends to be interesting, because she's such an underdeveloped character, but I'm happiest when she's got something going on with Monty too. Boy gets around. I named Madame Thenardier Julie, because it's a good name (again, don't ask), and I feel sorry for her. I think she's probably the most tragic character. See "Etienne" for more, and a possible upcoming one-shot. Lastly, Gavroche is annoying as hell.
I adore Cosette. She's adorable and sweet and beautiful and deserves everything she gets at the end. I may have a little girlcrush on her. Which is probably why I keep slashing (?) her with Montparnasse, on whom I have a massive crush. I don't know.
As previously mentioned, I hate Enjolras. Dude was cold. I like Jehan, Grantaire, and Joly a lot, then Courfeyrac. Combeferre and Feuilly are growing on me, and Laigle is okay (except for having a thousand names, which makes me kind of furious.) I don't know a lot about Bahorel, but I'm learning... I get him confused with 'Bossuet' eight-four percent of the time. My problem with the barricade boys? Is that they keep looking one-dimensional to me. Like, 'Yep, Joly's the hypochondriac! Ferre's the thoughtful one! Bahorel is rowdy! Jehan is a poet... and might not be straight!" You know? It's a bit dull. Give me my Patron-Minette any day. They're more fun to play with.
I love Fantine let's write some more fic for her okay? Get on that because I told you to! Except, you know who I think is the most tragic character in the whole Book? Uh, this is going to sound retarded, but... Sister Simplice. Her whole life, and not one lie! I love the Simplice in the '78 movie. I think that's its one redeeming feature.
Okay. Here is my own personal canon on Marius's family. Gillenormand wanted a son to carry his name, right? But he kept having these accursed daughters, so he named the younger one, Marius's mom, for himself: Lucille. And I don't really know why, but Marius's spinster aunt has declared that her name is Berthe. So I went with it. Oh. And I absolutely love Georges Pontmercy. He seems cuddly. Then again, I think Montparnasse is cuddly, so don't take my word for it. Oh oh oh! And I'm pretty sure Theodule is gay.
And... I think it'd be fun to slash Montparnasse with, like, every single character in Les Mis ever. That's my self-proclaimed goal as of right now. Three down, nine million to go!
4/21/08-- I may have to retire from writing fic for a little while. For some reason everything I try to put to words comes out looking clunky and awful to me. I have a lot of things in the works--including the end of Fanteeney Todd and the rest of The Something Adventures of Someone ValWhoever--but I just... can't... right now. I've been doing lots of fanart-y doodles, though... maybe I'll put them on deviantart sometime...?
Hopefully this won't last more than a week or two. I certainly can't stop writing fanfic forever, no worries!
(And PhantomInspector... I love you muchly for the Monty Montage and the constant prodding... thanks very much for you support and wonderfulness... I'll finish Fanteeney Todd first by summer, I promise. Hopefully.)
6/30/08-- Okay, I lied a little. A little more than two weeks. But it's not just that I can't write, it's that I can't Les Mis. I've been fandom-jacked by Doctor Who. AND I found out that my version of the 78 movie was ABRIDGED. So that fic's on hold till I get my hands on a complete version. For the sake of fairness to John Gay. I have a fic in my brain. Dun worry, I'll write it eventually. If I can ever hammer out the plot. Thanks for... caring. XD
(Feel free to stop by my livejournal--username "lesmisloony" of course--and try to bring me back to this fandom. I'd actually appreciate it.)
9/4/08-- Maybe I'll be back soon, ey? I think I might use NaNoWriMo to get this LM/DW fic out, and then ANYTHING could happen!
