Author has written 17 stories for X-Men, X-Men: Evolution, and Marvel. Hi there! I'm Katey, the chick who writes under the pen-name Beaubier. Picked that because of Northstar and Aurora, Jean-Paul and Jeanne-Marie Beaubier, who are two really, really fun mutants to write. The icon over there is a detail of Caravaggio's Narcissus. Not-so-fun Facts: I'm creeping up on 30, which is pretty cool since I don't think I expected to make it that far. I mostly write dark fantasy and horror, but my fanfiction never quite gets as far into the creepy zone as my other stuff. I like comics (obviously), Himalayan Buddhist art, loud music, Arthurian studies, Epiphones, and Black Bush. My favorite authors are John Steinbeck, Neil Gaiman, Meghan Brunner, Kurt Vonnegut, Warren Ellis, Frank Herbert, George R.R. Martin, James Joyce, Marion Zimmer Bradley, Edgar Allan Poe, Oscar Wilde, Wendy Pini, Alan Moore, Robert Louis Stevenson, and Braham Stoker. (Full disclosure: Yes, I totally just lifted this paragraph from my author site. I'm also a lazy jerk, apparently.) My current project is another crime against X-Men: Evolution, in the series that began with Relativity some years ago. This fourth and final installment is a series of one-shots called Must Be The Music-- in chronological order but with no coherent or overarching plot-- each of which focuses on wrapping up/expanding on a theme for a given character. With a big old plot to deal with in TTW some of them didn't get the love they needed, so rather than shortchange them in the big story I decided to save a lot of it for this kind of project. So far Must Be The Music consists of: Expect ten before it's over and done. I'm slower on the updates now than I was five or six years ago (man, I am old...), but you know how it goes. I promise, no matter if it's been months since my last update, I'm still here, and I'm still going to finish what I started. I turn up a couple of other places on ff.n, in my two joint projects. The first one was with Sue Penkivech at http://www.fanfiction.net/~fallenxangels -- it's our version of what we wanted the X-Men to be at a time when we were all very annoyed with Marvel. (Not that we're not now. Just saying.) The later one with Jen1703 was spawned from an RP board where I played Angel and Jen played Jean Grey.
