The Obsession: Troy, by Adele Geras, was the first book I cried in, after reading it in 4th grade. Since then, Hector has been my hero, and I've read the Iliad, Aeneid, Odyssey, and every re-telling I can get my hands on. I've even written two research papers on the subject, and spent a ridiculous amount of time researching the war, the place, and the people. So my writing usually follows the legend, not the movie. Don't get me wrong, I loved the movie, but I feel like enough people have followed that storyline, and there's no way for me to improve upon it. Besides, it's more challenging for me to follow and include all details in the original story.
The Stories: HBB is my only baby now. It's kind of a lens to see Hector and other characters through, and I'm putting more time, effort, and myself into it than any other story. It'll drag on for quite awhile, and hopefully will improve! Your feedback on this (and all stories) is really appreciated. I'd like to get published someday, and that means improvement and hard work, and your opinions are welcome. I'm sorry I took such a long break, but hopefully I can get chapters up faster. And, because I adore writing from Hector's POV, there may be some shorter stories up when I get inspired. Stay tuned!
