Constructive criticism is greatly appreciated. I’ll try to respond to all reviews, but it may take a long time.
General disclaimer: I own nothing but the plot of my fics, unless otherwise stated.
Contact: fanfiction.net PM, or a PM on the Orion Awards forums.
Note: I will be posting notes/commentary/explanations on all my 2007-onwards fics on my livejournal at http://anordir.livejournal.com/tag/fic+ramblings. So if any of my drabbles made no sense to you, that might help.
Fandom things I’m involved in:
The Orion Awards: A set of annual awards for the best fics in the fandom. Nominate your favourite AF fics! All the great fics nominated so far are in the ff.net c2 community. You can also vote for fics in the People's Choice Awards.
Interested in becoming a judge for the awards? Contact The White Lily, our judge coordinator (http://www.fanfiction.net/~thewhitelily).
Even if you’re not involved in the Orions, come hang out on the forum. It’s a fun place for all fans of Artemis Fowl, fanfiction, and writing.
The Observatory: A fanzine about fanfiction, writing, and of course Artemis Fowl. Also contains fun things like Guess The Author (where authors write drabbles on the same prompt, and you have to guess who wrote what), Crack the Eternity Code (codes, based on Gnommish/Centaurian/Eternian, for you to break), an AF fanart gallery, and the Classified ads. Run by some of the Orion staff. If you're interested in helping out, contact us on the Orion Awards forums.
Criminality: An archive of AF fics that are well worth reading. If you’re interested in improving your writing, check out the Criminality fic challenges. Crim (and its forum) has now merged with Orion.
Quality Artemis Fowl Fanfiction: My C2 community. It archives, obviously, quality fanfiction in the Artemis Fowl fandom. Only completed fics are accepted. Like to suggest a fic to be added? Or do you have any questions/comments? Just post in the forums or send me a ff.net PM.
About me:
I’ve been in the Artemis Fowl fandom since September 2003. I support promoting good AF fanfiction (OA, Crim, QAFF).
Recently (as in, during the past year or two), I've become less and less active in fandom. I've pretty much stopped reviewing, except for fics that are at least decent where I know the author will take the advice to heart. And I barely read anything other than my tried-and-true favourite authors.
When I review, I'm...thorough or obsessive, depending on how you look at it. =P I put thought and effort into providing detailed feedback, and it frustrates me when this goes to waste on an immature ingrate who doesn't know the difference between a flame and constructive criticism. Please know that if I take the time to review your fic I do like some of what you have written and I want to help you improve.
I can't promise anymore that I'll review everyone who reviews me. Rather, I plan to review everyone who reviews me with concrit. It means the world to me when someone explains what s/he liked or disliked rather than just saying "Yay" or "Boo," and people who provide thoughtful feedback deserve to receive the same from me. Otherwise, thanks for the review, but don't expect anything in return.
All of you who continue to offer and accept concrit, my hat is off to you. Keep fighting the good fight, mates.
