As for why I have so many favorite stories, well, there are a lot of really great fics out there and none deserved to be ignored! All of the ones there are enjoyable and well written! Read them!

Now, here is a major gripe I have against the fanfiction community at large:

PLEASE READ THIS!
People, the Holocaust is NOT your imaginary playground! Back off!

There are a lot of horrible things that happened in human history to use for inspiration. Find some other tragic event to fool around with! WWII is not a subject for casual fanfiction writing. It's too recent and the memory is still way too fresh. To do so is just insensitive and wrong and, as someone whose grandparents and family went through the concentration camps AND as someone who has gone back to Poland and been to the death camps, I am telling you:
It is not a topic to write a fic about.
Have you seen the gas chambers? Walked on the train tracks that brought about 2 million people to their deaths? Have you been to the ashes of the burned bodies that measures about 15 feet high? Can you understand the amount of bodies that are needed to make an ash pile 15 feet high? Seen the lampshades made from human skin and soap created with the fat of Jews?
Have you gone into the cremetoriums? Did you go past the bales of human hair, the desecrated holy items, the hundreds of millions of shoes, suitcases, clothig, hairbrushes ect.? Have you walked by Dr. Megenela's "labratory"?
100 to 1, you have not. Anyone who has gone there would not write about it. You can't sleep at night after you've gone there; the nightmares will wake you.

You cannot imagine to what depths humanity can fall until you've walked down those dirt paths that led to the "showers", those bunkers, and have seen the pits where they threw the murdered like garbage.
YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THOSE PEOPLE WENT THROUGH.
And I hope you never have to go through that or even comprehend it because it would bend your minds. The Holocaust is not a subject that can be justified by any means and writing about the Holocaust in such a casual fashion shows a lack of compassion that I find highly disturbing. You want to write about before the Holocaust, the events leading up to the Holocaust, the liberation of the camps, the Warsaw uprising- go ahead. But to put yourself or (for example) a cartoon character into a concentration camp is wrong. By writing those types of fics, you are demeaning what my family and all the Jews of Europe went through.
Don't mock the dead. They have suffered enough.
