I don't think it has ever taken me over a year to complete a story. EVER. I didn't have the best grades like everyone else, and I didn't do as many activities as everyone else; it would almost seem as if I was just another face in the student body. But then came the essay, the personal statement, the one thing I felt I would be able to express myself outside of the papers and documents. They had asked me how I was a leader and how I contributed to the community. After being on this website for nearly six years, nothing seemed more logical than to write my essay about my work on this website; the stories I've written, the plots I've developed, the people I've interacted with and heard from as they enjoyed what my talent was able to give to them. In the following spring, I was accepted. When I was growing up, I was told I was wasting my time, writing silly stories about silly Yu-Gi-Oh characters. But to you and me, they were more than that. The writing I was doing involved greater concepts than just a children's card game. That, my friend's, is the story of my life. I was accepted into college because of the work I have done on this website. Not only has my love for the series and the characters kept me here for so many years, but it was also your kind words that kept me believing that I was doing something meaningful. This is to help you so that you won't waste your time looking at crap, but instead read something that I find is truly golden. :) Real 2 Radical: (In-Progress) This is an AU of sorts, but on a whole different level! So remember all those reality TV shows that were/are on TV but you never cared to watch? Well, at least I never did, but I still remember them! Basically, I have always wanted to do a story in which characters gave video logs and personal insight on certain situations, so I decided a reality TV show was the right way to go! Only what makes this interesting is that Seto and Mokuba aren't brothers, Kisara is a rising actress, Seth is a hobo, Noah is an intern at Kaiba Corp., and Gozaburo's got a plot up his sleeve that's so secretive, it'll make you explode from curiosity! Severance and Forlorn: (Complete) We've all seen the various bits and pieces from the show that reveal growing up in the Kaiba Mansion, but they don't show everything. In this story, I basically take what we all assumed from the show and make it my own. I give them the childhood we never saw, and connect all the dots. If you're into angst, you're going to love this. It's dark, it's slightly depressing, and you'll want to make Gozaburo commit suicide over and over again :) It appears to be one of my most popular stories, so you should consider giving it a glance if you have the time. Captivity: (Complete) Since we were on the topic, I thought I'd give a little review to this story. This is the first story that Consequences is a sequel of, and it does basically the same thing. In this tale, I take Duelist Kingdom arc and fill in the things we didn't see, all from Mokuba's point of view. It's very dark and very angsty, but I like it a lot for what it's worth. It's got a lot of child abuse, so watch out. But I think it's kind of cool in a lot of ways. So if you liked the first season of Yu-Gi-Oh you'd like this story! Consequences of Apathy: (Complete) I think all of us Kaiba Brothers fans have really come to the conclusion that the Noah arc is the best season, mainly because it focuses a lot on the Kaiba Brothers and their past. Well, that's basically what this story is. I take the Noah arc and show you the things you didn't get to see, all the while connecting it back to my previous story (Captivity) from the Kaiba Brothers point of view. It's really interesting, it's been really fun to write, and I think it's one of my most epic tales yet. It's basically the side of the Noah arc we all wanted to see, but couldn't quite enjoy fully because there were too many card games. I would highly recommend this story to read! (P.S: Mokuba duels in this one, kind of awesome) Falling Short: (Complete) Ah, yes, one of my most famous stories of all time. Falling Short. Now, EVERYONE loved this story, and I think I did too in a way. This story kind of veers off into an AU very quickly in the story. Mokuba makes a wish that Yugi was his brother instead of Seto and walla, suddenly Yugi and Mokuba are brothers, Yami and Seto are cousins, and who the hell named Yami Antony? Basically. Not to mention evil Bakura and Malik are around, trying to steal all the millennium items now that no one remembers their importance! Kind of tight if you ask me. It's a pretty epic story, most will say, and I had fun writing it. So you could take a gander at that sometime. A Gift From God: (Complete) The first story of an epic trilogy that will live on in history for the rest of our lives! Or, at least the rest of my life. Basically you take the perfect "Knocked Up" or "Juno" situation, and you put Seto and Serenity into it. Except what I love about this story is that the roles are switched because Seto is the one that wants to keep the baby, while Serenity sees a whole life ahead of her. They try to make it work out, but love sometimes can't keep everything together... not even a family. I liked this story a lot, and I'm glad it sparked the inspiration of two other stories to follow it. I'd give it an A+ to this day. Mother, May I?: (Complete) The sequel to "A Gift From God" and the beginning of a great adventure! Basically Seto, Mokuba, and now Seto's kid Steven, go on this great adventure across Japan to find Serenity. This takes place about 7 years after the first story, and various issues have come up since then such as Seto and Mokuba's bond being in trouble and Steven not knowing the truth about his mother. All the while they go on this epic adventure together, only to run into some old time friends from high school. This really is a cute story, and I really liked it a lot. I think you guys will too! Forget Me Not: (Complete) The sequel to "Mother, May I?" and marked the ending of the Steven trilogy, as people liked to call it. This story is the final conclusion to two long stories, and I'm not going to lie, it takes somewhat of a different turn than the other two stories. Instead of just the scoial issues within the Kaiba Family, we see Dartz and various other bad guys brought into the picture as we discover that Steven is part of an ancient Egyptian prophecy that has put him danger. What also makes this interesting is that we also have issues on the Ancient Egyptian side as well; including Atem, Seth, and the other sacred guardians. I will admit, this story runs a bit long, and it kind of takes a completely different outlook than the other two stories, but I kind of like it for that. It made the story line just a bit more out there and interesting. So if you guys ever manage to finish reading the first two stories and feel you like reading an adventure, this is definitely your story! For Your Protection: (Complete) I'm not going to lie, I love this story for a lot of reasons, and some of the reasons, I'll admit, were unrelating to the story itself. You see, before this story, I hadn't updated in about a year or so. I had tried many attempts but nothing seemed to work, and I just had the crappiest of ideas. It depressed the crap out of me that I couldn't write because as you might've guessed, it's what I love. But at the same time, I was in a nasty relationship, which I feel was my ultimate writer's block. So the break up finally came and one day I was walking by myself, crying silently to myself, when an idea came to mind. Just out of the blue. I started writing the first chapter, and it was like an experience no other. From that day on, I knew I would write and continue to write to the very end. Now, in terms of the actual story itself, it's pretty depressing and pretty angsty, I will admit, but it was a great story. It's very dark and has some gruesome scenes, but I love what it symbolizes for me and for how far I've come, so I really feel like it's one of my greatest stories. No Matter What: (Complete) This is also another favorite of mine. This was one of the first stories I ever wrote where Mokuba was an adult, and I have to say, I think I did pretty well. One of the things that use to annoy me was how everyone who wrote Mokuba as a teenager made him depressed and suicidal. In this story, I make him a normal teenager, just doing what us teenagers do best; growing up and becoming independent. Of course, Seto hasn't really changed over the years and is just now realizing that if he doesn't do something soon, Mokuba may pull away forever. It was the last story I completed before I broke away from fanfiction for a year, and I loved it a lot. This was a long time ago, so the writing isn't as good, but it still holds a dear place in my heart. Cold Blood: (Complete) I wrote this story a really long time ago. Although you'll probably be hearing that a lot as we move on with more stories. This story wasn't written as well, because my writing didn't really get good till about FYP, but I loved it's idea. It's basically your typical murder/CSI story, only with a lot more murder and a little more quirk. I love it because you really can't figure out this murder mystery, so it gave you this genuine CSI edge that you felt like you could only get from a Stephen King book or a Law & Order series. It's only 7 chapters long, but it's got a lot of great stuff in it. While We Were Dead: (Complete) First off, I must say, I love this title. It's like the greatest excuse in the world not to hang out with that one kid that pisses you off to no end. But maybe that's just me... anyways, so this story, also not as well written as most of the other stories on here, is another one of, what I like to call, Kari Classics. This one takes a different turn then most because I bring Seto and Mokuba's parents back and make up an excuse for why they were "dead" for practically all of their lives and the story pretty much lifts off from there. Mokuba loves having his parents back, while Seto doesn't want anything to do with them, and all the while we're wondering if they really are their parents. I think I mainly like this story for its twist of an ending, even though I hear from everyone that it was expected. Oh well, I think it's pretty good, and you should think the same! Fighting: (Complete) This'll be the last story on my list to write a description for. Any other chapter story is either not worth talking about, or possibly abandoned(which is sad, because some of the abandoned stories had interesting plots that I simply gave up on many years ago) Oh, except for "In Your Dreams" But I figure because it's only 2 chapters, you guys would understand. Anyways, Fighting... gosh, it's been a long time since I've even glanced at that story. I remember one of the main OC characters was based off my goofy best friend Josh, just because I thought it would be funny to have a Seto character encounter someone like my friend Josh. Anyhow, the story is rad all the same. It's kinda lame in the fact that I didn't do a lot of research about the army, so the rankings and lingo just sounds off, but that's it.
