If there's one thing that I learned while familiarizing myself with ff.n, it's that those writers that I seem to love the most are all as old/older than I am. I guess, like cheese, good fanfiction authors get better as they age. Knowing that, I start to feel a little YOUNG when I say that I am a college freshman. @_@x Oh well!

I like reading one-shots and drabbles, but I'm not picky. If you write about minor characters then I'll love you.

I surf the fanfiction areas of Harry Potter, Animorphs, Rurouni Kenshin, G Gundam, Star Wars, InuYasha and my current obsession, Avatar: The Last Airbender.

I sail the good ships (Harry Potter): Ron/Hermione, Harry/Ginny; (Animorphs): Rachel/Tobias, Jake/Cassie; (Rurouni Kenshin): Kenshin/Kaoru, Sanosuke/Megumi, Yahiko/Tsubame, Aoshi/Misao; (Star Wars) Han/Leia, Luke/Mara; (InuYasha): Miroku/Sango, InuYasha/Kagome, Koga/Ayame; AND (Avatar) Kataang, George, Kataang, Tokka, Zusong, Kataang.

My favorite characters from Avatar are, in order: The Cabbage Man, Avatar Kyoshi, and Song.

I am the Cabbage Man's most rabid fan. In my fanfiction I call him Kantu, and his wife Beru.

My biggest pet peeves about fanfiction:

-There are no excuses for bad grammar/misspelling. EDIT EDIT EDIT before you post, and if you made an honest mistake (like, ~sweatdrop~, misspelling a characters name) GO BACK AND FIX IT!! Have pride in your work, and DON'T be lazy about the mechanics.

-Characterization and Dialogue--If you write fanfiction about a tv show, please WATCH the t.v. show. If you write fanfiction about book characters, please actually FINISH the book. Get to know the characters and write about them as they ACTUALLY are, not how you THINK they are. Nothing is better than a really In-character fanfic.

-If you're going to write an AU fic with OOC characters, don't post it here. Change their names and send it over to fictionpress, where you can post 'original' fiction.

-When posting your first fanfic, please Please PLEASE don't write in your summary "this is my first fanfic, so be nice!" Not only is this taking up space that you could actually be SUMMARIZING the fanfic--it's just not professional. Your writing is not going to suck because this is your first fanfic...if it sucks it's because they still need to grow more as a writer. Don't make excuses. I'm not saying that your fanfic is bad...just that you are not being professional about your writing.

-Stories that claim to be "better than it sounds" or admit that they know that "my summary sucks" are usually bad. It's one thing to have a sucky summary, and quite another to just leave it. It's just an excuse for being lame.

-Stories that request reviews with anything beyond that of a simple "r/r" or "please review" ALWAYS SUCK. If you're going to spend more time begging for reviews that actually summarizing, there's definitely a reason for the lack of reviews. It's not professional and is a big turn-off to potential readers. Grr.

When I write something, I don't write for the reviews. I write because I have something to say, and I know that it's worth saying. I hope that my writing is good enough to stand alone and be judged for its own merit, not because I needed to beg for reviews.

That being said, I am a total review whore. Also, silent readers will be shot and fed to ravenous platypus-bears.
