Author has written 23 stories for Harry Potter. April 15, 2008: No, you didn't read that date wrong. I'm still around and I've still been writing. And of course I am still a huge fan of Harry Potter. A recommendation from a listener sent me on a fanart search, where I then found myself on FanFiction.Net. Wow, it's been a long time since I've been here. I just cannot believe how long it has been since visited last. Everything looks soooo different. Give me a couple of weeks to get my bearings around here and I'll dig through some of the stuff I've been working on and post a little something for those of you who still read my stuff :) For now, stay crazy! -DarkForest214 May 5, 2007: I am a poor excuse for an English Major. This summer I'm going to go through all of my fics and edit them all and get rid of the typos. I was just reading some of the stuff I wrote in 2005 and kept finding simple mistakes like the confusion of "there, their and they're" and in one of them I used "sun" instead of "son" whoops! I once read that when editing your work it's best to let it sit for a while and come back to it to edit it later. The longer you let it sit, the less it seems like your own work and the more critical you'll be. Then again, I've always been very critical of myself and everything I do. Which is why I edit the crap out of my shows...fear not, episode 3 is less scripted and a bit more random but just as enjoyable. Besides pointing out my mistakes, I also wanted to post something I find a little interesting. My final for my Late Medieval Literature class is to basically write a fanfiction! I'm taking Chaucer's "A Knight's Tale" from "Canterbury Tales" and "writing it in a distinct, modern style." Therefore, I'm rewriting the tale as an episode of That 70's Show. If it turns out okay I might post it as my first non-HP fic! I move back home in one week, and will post that poem when I can find it, so until then this is DarkForest214 saying "over and out!" April 27, 2007: I am so sorry it took me so long to post the last chapter of "A Time for Change" I got distracted by school work and my latest Harry Potter project, The Podcast of Awesome. If you like wizard rock, then you should check out my show. For details on how to subscribe or what bands I've played, go to myspace dot com slash podcastofawesome. And as always, any questions, comments, (reviews) etc. are welcome! Keep an eye out for a new poem or two that I'll be posting in about the next three weeks. (May will be the month from hell. one week of classes left, a week of finals/moving home, then a wedding after that...oy!) Keep on being awesome and remember, if the Wizard Rock is too loud, then you're a muggle! March 6, 2007: Spring break starts in a week...so you know what that means...It's midterm week yay!! Pure sarcasm of course. I will post the next chapter of "A Time for Change" on Friday the 9th because I will be without my beloved laptop the following week. We will be taking him in to Best Buy because I have a hardware problem that does not allow me to connect to the internet via my ethernet port. (Don't worry if that doesn't make sense...) I will possibly get on via snail internet (also known as dial up) but don't expect much for the next two weeks or so. But on week two of my spring break I am going on a cruise. A wonderful opportunity to write that I will exploit to the fullest. Until Friday, this is DarkForest214 over and out. February 12, 2007: Here's an early Valentine for you all... Chapter 26 of "A Time for Change" is now up. So curl up with your lap top, or in front of your desk top with a mug of hot cocoa and enjoy! School and life in general is going well. I've been writing a bit every night before going to bed to help slow down the racing thoughts in my mind and to put what my imagination conjures up down on paper. So, hopefully you'll be hearing more from me in the future. (No promises though!) Feel free to get in contact with me by using the link to my e-mail or by reviewing. Until next time... January 20, 2007: Happy (belated) New Year everyone I hope you all made it through the holidays with minimal emotional scaring. I have the next chapter of "A Time for Change" Written and another one in the works and it is my goal to type it up either tonight, or tomorrow after I get my reading done for my history and (2)english classes. Fear not, it's not as bad as it seems I'm about half way done with Charles Dickon's "Hard Times" and I just have a play to read ('cause I read the book for my other english class just last semester). I'm sorry college has cut into my writing time but school is more important. Other areas I enjoy are suffering horribly as well but I hate to neglect my readers. Thank you to all the reviewers who commented on "Letters to Santa" I posted it on a whim and didn't think it would be such a hit. If you haven't read it yet I recommend it. It's light, amusing and short. I believe that's all from the mouth of me for now... Forgive me for the lack of updates. (I am still open to beta. Don't judge my editing skills by what I write because 89 percent of it goes out without any fruther editing besides what the spell check catches. e-mail me if you are interested.) Recomendations and Favorites: Hear You Me (major fave of mine) and Everybody Wants You by Gene Kelly -- This girl has talent, let me tell you! (anything by her is good) If you review my work chances are I'll R&R you're stuff too (I'll try. I do have a life you know...even though Harry Potter takes up most of it!)... So please, be kind and rewind I mean Review... (what am I thinking, this isn't a video rental store!) Oh and thanks to the wonderful people who have reviewed. You've made my day. Live, Laugh, Love, Dedications “A Time For Change” — To every broken hearted bookworm (and werewolf) out there. Let’s hope there is still hope. “Books and Boys”— To Chris, even though you broke my heart, I really did love you (and still can't understand why you'd do something like that)… "Blessing in Disguise" — To Missy, you deserve a happy ending. Thank you for the inspiration for this little piece. Recognize it? (I’m sorry, but the conversation I had with Kim earlier that night made me do it…) “Dark of Night” — To the love of my life, where ever you are… “Diary of a Hufflepuff: Year One” — To Keri “Cousin” Bishop and Laura “Whoo Zeppelin!” Haidet. For putting up with me while in Hawaii and keeping in touch after High School. Next time we’re all in town we’re goin out! “Fade” — Take one guess as to who this is about and you’ll probably figure out who it’s for… “I Am A Werewolf” — To DiscombobulatedDrummer, my first regular and loyal reviewer. “He’s A Real Weasley” — To Mr. C... who although I bugged the crap out of him at Dreamscape he put up with me anyway and made me editor to boot! Best English Teacher Ever. “Letters to Santa” — To every child out there that believes in Santa Clause and to the adults that still believe in the magic of Christmas. “Little Did They Know” — To Becky, my “twin.” Keep writing and never stop being you. I didn’t think it was possible to become best friends with someone in such a short time until I met you. Midnight Stroll” — To my mum and dad. Mum was my editor for this one-shot, and to this day it remains her favorite. And Dad, my silent but always present supporter. They deserve the dedication of my first Marauder story and successful one-shot. “Never Again” — To Missy for always being there for me when things got rough, and even when I was sick of myself. “Not As I Appear” — To all reviewers. They deserve some dedication right? Even if it’s a short poem… After all, they actually take the time to comment on my writings “One Person” — To the music that’s helped me through the rough times. What would I do without the annoying sound of the Smashing Pumpkins, or the cool folk rock mixture that is Enter the Haggis. And to my parents who’ve had to listen to these two bands blaring from my room at all hours of the day (and night!) “Pride of Death” — For my Grandfather. You died when I was young, before I had a chance to really get to know you. Just know that I often think of you, and enjoy the few memories I have… “Some Guys Get All the Adjectives” — To the twins, Fred and George for inspiring so many fantastic pieces of work. You not only inspire me, but many other greats out there on FF.N. And to Gene Kelly, you’re writing is amazing and I’m always rereading your works. “The Werewolf” — To Lovely Ravenclaw and Vilya0, two of my other regular readers/reviewers. And to any reviewers I may have left out, because I’ve certainly not forgotten you. “Transforming Thoughts” — This is a big one…this is by far my most popular fics, but without a doubt it goes to Zack. May I always be unbelievably happy with you. “Troubled Waters: A Shadow of Doubt” — To James M. Wade. I feel awful for betraying you the way I do in this story, but there is so much more to the character that I don’t include. And I know you’re a great guy at heart. I’ve always felt an unexplainable connection to you and your grave. May you always rest in peace. “Werewolf” — To all of the silent readers. I know you’re out there, I just wish I could hear from you more often… “What Did You Say?" — To Zack for turning out to be yet another disappointment in my life. Thank you for showing me that I should just stick to my books and keep my walls up against others as closed minded as you. “Whisper on a Stream” — To Dumbly and Jess. You two helped me discover my love for writing. May the music never fade for you, Dumbly; and don’t lose hope Jess. Live, Laugh, Love, | |||||||||||
