My Fanfiction History
I started with the Tribe, but none of my fics in that fandom are worth reading, then I wrote some marginally better ones in Farscape before bouncing around a bit between Xena: Warrior Princess, Daredevil and a few small, almost drabble-like Star Trek: Voyager (busted) fics. Finally in the summer of 2004, I managed to stick to one fandom again for a while and wrote four fics I'm rather proud of for Alias. I had a small rebound when I updated my Xena fic before I really leapt into my first long-term fandom, Star Trek: Voyager. There I began with a few measely fics to 'warm up' so to speak, before I slowly became more advanced and more immersed into the different characters, situations and intonations of the series and of the fanfic world in general. They get readable after Knowledge Beneath Tension, which also happens to be the last fic I wrote before I met Kimmy. My personal favorites include Academy Days and Stand My Ground and as my masterpiece I'd label Ab Urbe Condita, my longest decent fic to date and one that took me a good eight months to write (much to the distress of my readers, I imagine). I've also started a Harry Potter fic, breaking my own long-standing rule, and have a few Battlestar Galactica fics to my name. My latest fics have been for Mcleod's Daughters, for which I had a shortlived but intense obsession last holiday, those are mostly just for fun though.
Currently writing: I have a few short stories and the fifth chapter of my Harry Potter fic finished that just need a bit of attention and then they'll be posted. After that, I - who have always been more of a short-story gal - have a lot of seriously long plot bunnies that demand to be written. I'm currently working on one of those, a longish Voyager fic, whose plot I'm definately loving, but it's a slow-going process. The other tall bunnies are also for Voyager or otherwise for Lois & Clark. So for the next few years, I'll definately have my work cut out for me. That doesn't mean that I'm out of the short-story business, those'll probably pop up as the muse wills, in all sort of fandoms. If uni allows.
