I am (hence the pen name) from Texas. I am a Historian by trade, and a TV junkie by choice. I am married, I work...I try to teach little children how to ride horses (and make sure my own horse behaves) and I've also recently returned to taking some graduate level fiction writing classes. Hopefully I'll learn something - like spelling.
I'm extremely picky about fanfic, because I like reading stories where the authors stay as true to the characters from the shows as possible. I do not suffer the trite, the immature, the Mary Sue or the extravagantly out of cannon. I do not suffer the poorly written, mistake-riddled, or the no-plot-wonders. I like wit, satire, angst and tension - wickedly accurate characterizations - a mystery that twists and surprises or a one-shot that leaves me thinking. Have I mentioned that I'm picky?
I have been dubbed the Mistress of Tease. I'm not a "fluff" writer. I like tension you can chew on! If there is tension, angst...all manner of unresolved sexual/romantic frustrations...then Alamo is a happy woman. I can be romantic. I like romance...it just has to be the unrequited kind. But when it comes to happy endings - well, I tend to write for the "hopeful ending" - not necessarily resolved, yet open for anything to come.
I enjoy a multitude of fandoms, from crime drama, fantasy, to Sci/Fi (as evident from my authored stories). My tastes change and vary quite frequently, which usually ends in me starting a new story before I'm done with others.
I love in-depth reviews. Constructive criticism is always appreciated. If you have something you like, or didn't, about my stories, well then by george tell me!
