| Hildwyn |
Author has written 20 stories for Pirates of the Caribbean, StarTrek: The Original Series, StarTrek: Enterprise, StarTrek: The Next Generation, and Doctor Who. I'm Alia-Hildwyn (here known as Hildwyn, and elsewhere as Alia), and I'm a grad student who enjoys reading and writing fanfic far more than is healthy. Fortunately I'm in good company on that point here. Most of my stories are in PotC, but it is my intention to finish up some WIPs I have in other fandoms, such as Earth Final Conflict, Battlestar Galactica, Doctor Who, to name a few. In terms of what I write, I really like to do quasi-philosophical pieces, and I'm a sucker for stories that leave you with more questions in the end than answers. I also love a good story that makes you cry. I just don't write those too often--I find it hard to cry for anything I write, unless we're talking about tears of frustration. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank a wonderful fellow author and RPer, who has acted as a Beta on a great number of my works here--Lady Patriot. Her Norrington, Gillette, and Groves are superb, and I believe is one of the best, if not the best writer, for these characters that I have seen. She blends the history and culture of the time, with fantastic plots, really believable personalities, and fantastic OCs. She's also probably the best champion for the Marines in the PotC universe that there is. Much of the knowledge I have of His Majesty's Marines of that time period is thanks to her. New! 14 Oct 2009! -- On my personal website if you go to the fanfiction section and look under individual stories, you can now find select ones with audio recordings. Upcoming Stories/Stories in Progress: Untitled -- Coming soon, done in response to a challenge. It's a PotC/Hornblower crossover with a slash pairing of Will Turner/William Bush. I'm not about to let this prompt defeat me. | |||||||
