Author has written 13 stories for Super Smash Brothers, Kirby, Legend of Zelda, Maple Story, Mario, and Vocaloid. January 4th, 2012 Hope everyone's been having a fun holiday season! I updated a buttload of stories, fixing formatting that was screwed up by the site stripping it out. I also messed with some phrases that were bugging me (especially in A Royal Pain; recent viewers might notice that I removed some swears and an Aunt Flow joke. Yeah, I was a jackass, and not the funny kind). To congratulate myself, I will return to being a lazy butt. That said, though, I removed two stories: Victory on Victoria: I wrote it to try and fufill NaNoWriMo, and it shows. It also shows signs of my edgier self, who sprinkled in swear words just for the heck of it and made several off-color jokes that now make me cringe. Plus, it's five chapters of a twenty-chapter story, so it's not going to be a very satisfying read due to the loose ends (Vivi being exiled, Sumi and Seth hating each other). I've saved it in case someone wants to see it again, but it will not be reposted. Please Praise Me: While not as bad as VoV, it's not on the same level as recent works I've done. It reads like a barebones novelization of the song it was based on with no real additions, and as a side-effect of that, it shared many traits with other retellings of Abandoned on a Moonlit Trail, such as Eve/Miku being splashed in the face with hot food and Adam/Kaito being killed by an axe. Again, it's been saved for those who'd like to read it anyway. -0- NOTE: I go on hiatus often, usually without warning. And in the middle of a story. I'm going to try writing just oneshots now. NOTE II: THE REVENGE: Profile is under constant construction at the moment, as the site is eating all of my linebreaks. Including the horizontal lines we're supposed to use, which for some reason don't work right on this profile. NOTE III: SON OF NOTE: I will probably have to fix any and all stories that had scene breaks in them sooner or later, as I'm aware that the site tends to strip those out. It also does not seem to take kindly to putting ! and ? together, even though that's an acceptable piece of punctuation from what I've been told. fanfiction.net, y u so fail. To all the people that endured my foolishness during my early years here: I'm sorry. I was a completely naive fangirl that needed a Clue by Four to the face badly, to put it bluntly. I'm not sure how exactly that's affected my current writing, though. I know there was at least one person who told me my barebones script-format, "Jerk Sue OC has a Pokemon journey exactly like RSE, except it's wAcKy and SiLly" fic was horrible, and was immediately shot down by my friends. In the impossibly slim chance you remember that and see this message: You were right, that story was bad. I'm also a total jerk about half the time. I will sometimes make a snarky comment about something and realize later that I shouldn't have said that. If you are one of the people who think that others putting "...if you don't follow fads or try to fit in the crowd, write your name next to this and post it in your profile" memes on their profiles are being a bit hypocritical, write you name next to-- WAIT, NEVERMIND This thing gets long; it talks about scrapped stories of mine and their plots, and a few requests for betas. If you don't care about any of it, there's always the "hide bio" option up there. Age: 18 -0- Victory in Victoria (MapleStory) I lost interest about halfway to the Nano goal on chapter five, mainly because I hadn't actually done the Book of Ancient/Where is Hella? questline in Orbis. I didn't know how I'd implement it, anyway, since I wouldn't be doing the full quest. There is little chance of this being redone, as so many classes and bosses stronger than Zakum (who was meant to be the big villain in this story) have been introduced. A cast of eleven characters was more than enough for me, and there is no way I'd be able to implement Cyngus Knights, Dual Blades, and Heroes. (I know I don't really have to include them, nor did I ever have to have a huge cast to begin with, but I didn't and still don't like the idea of leaving anyone out.) I might come back and edit a few troublesome spots, but I will not restart this. I know I dropped several f-bombs, which may warrant an M rating instead of T, and I might also alter some author's notes to reflect the discontinuation of the story and the general offensiveness of some dialogue, but otherwise this story will be left unfinished but not deleted. Here's some spoilers: Mary Sue gets killed in a second ambush by Crimson Balrogs, Seth and Sumi stop yelling at other and hook up in the ending, and Kenta and Vivi also become a couple halfway through. Double spoilers: I forgot Seth and Vivi's names and had to double-check (I thought it was Stephen and Vivian). Untitled (Super Smash Bros.) People in the forums around 2008-2009 probably know this one because I asked a lot of questions. It was based on There She Is!!, a five-episode animated story about a bunny who falls in love with and pursues a cat, in a world where interspecies love is strictly forbidden and harshly enforced. It wasn't going to be an exact reproduction, plot point from plot point, but it would have had a lot of similarities. I had the story about 70% done, before I suddenly hit a wall. For one thing, the subplot about the hostility toward interspecies couples came off as too preachy, especially once it started to affect the main pair and plot. There were all kinds of debate in-story about whether it's okay if a sapient being is involved (like an Animal Crossing pig, instead of a Spoink or Grumpig), or if the human-like is special (Hylians and angels could mix, but a Hylian and a Koopa wouldn't). Even I wasn't sure what the heck I was saying half the time, and I got sick of my own preaching. The love life of celebrity fighters is serious business, dontcha know? The other issue was personalities straying away from what I was supposed to write them as. Zelda was very tsundere-like in the first, third, and fourth chapters, and the fourth and fifth chapters saw Dedede becoming a ball of wangst and depression. The latter is partially justifiable given some of what happens (Zelda gets badly injured in a mass brawl that was partially his fault, for starters), but looking back at these changes pretty much killed any desire to redo this story. It will remain unposted. For the record, they decide to just stay friends at the end, so all the crap they went through over the course of the story was for nothing. Also, it was to be kind of AU to my current ficverse, so that the last chapter of Strength in Numbers never happened. Yes, I know how "AU of my ficverse" sounds, but I guess I can't explain it any other way. Paper Flowers (Paper Mario) The latter wouldn't have worked well; Mario is a lighthearted series, and it'd take skill to turn it dark without coming off as ~edgy~ or ~angsty~. I am not that kind of skilled. Also, going back to the OOCness, the fact that this bashing ever occurred contradicts the personalities of many characters. Can you imagine Mario allowing his party members to torment a nine-year-old, much less secretly joining in on it himself? Yeeeah, it almost read like a really bad romance fic, where the horrible ex-boyfriend/ex-girlfriend was mistreating Main Character A, who now runs into the arms of Main Character B and has a happily-ever-after. And in canon, the ex was actually a very sweet person, but the fic-plot needed him/her to be a jerk. I think I'm making a clear comparison, at least. If I'm not, then I'll just say that I was turning this into OOC-induced wangst and leave it at that. Zoras are Just Big Fish (Legend of Zelda) Very sarcastic piece of work. It sporked the idea that Ruto is a clingy jealous girl who'd be willing to kill Zelda and/or Link. There was a tiny bit of ribbing at the general "oh god two girls like me I'm gonna panic instead of dealing with it" idea, amongst other minor details (like King Zora bashing). However, when I was about two thirds of the way done, I ended up in a conversation with someone who was bashing Ruto, where I defended her and offered my interpretation of her. It was actually a really pleasant chat, and we both understood where the other was coming from (as the other person had pointed out a less-noticed trait of Ruto; she says "just a little" a lot in a short amount of time). It made me look back at what I was doing, and once more, I realized I was going overboard. This story will probably not be finished now, given how vicious it was, instead scrapped in favor of a more positive story. Well, unless the LoZ section gets flooded with "We'll torture Ruto/Zelda/Malon/Saria/Ilia/Midna/Din/Marin because she's a horrible bitch who's trying to break up my OTP and she deserves to die for that". Then I might look at this again, although it'd need to be rewritten, since many of the twists and the ending are similar to what happens in "I'll Do Anything to Make You Come to Me" for the Mario fandom. (Yes, Din the Oracle and Marin have been seen as serious romantic threats in some stories; the former did a 180 in personality and became a hateful person, and the latter was burned alive by the "heroine" for little to no reason.) -0- A Terrible Fate (Legend of Zelda; either Tragedy/Family or Drama/Family, depending on what ending I decide on) This is about 90% done; I can't give a very detailed summary here, mainly because it spoils Oracle of Ages (it's an oldish game, sure, but some people just really, really hate spoilers). I need to think of a suitable ending. Happy? Sad? I'm thinking of going for bittersweet, but I need to figure it out. It also introduces a lot of backstory and theories, with little to no evidence. (For example, I have it so that Ralph is half-Terminian, and as a result, he is a counterpart to Link.) I'll most likely need a beta to check it over and see if I made any horrible mistakes, either against solid canon or within the universe of this story. Of Peace and Love (Pokemon; Family/Angst?) Heck, even just elaborating on that warning is a spoiler. I'll definitely talk more about it at the beginning of the story itself, though, and that summary could change at any time. I'm still in the process of writing it. I'd say I'm about halfway done, perhaps, although a canon review is in order (I mention some of the Sages a lot, but I don't remember their behavior and motives very well). There's quite a bit of speculation on things like family trees, too. Just wait, the third game is gonna make all of it completely AU. | |||||||
