Author has written 8 stories for CSI, Chocolat, Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, and Harry Potter. Hi, there! Welcome to my profile page. Here's some information about me. Name: Alexandra Age: 22 Occupation: University student (Communication and Cultural Studies) Favourite books: the seven Harry Potter books (J.K. Rowling), the Twilight saga (Stephenie Meyer), The Prince (Niccolò Machiavelli), The Little Prince (Antoine de Saint-Exupéry), Le Silence de la Mer (Vercors), Moab is my Washpot (Stephen Fry), Advanced Banter: The QI Book of Quotations (John Lloyd and John Mitchinson). Favourite TV shows: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, How I Met Your Mother, House MD, Frasier, Blackadder, Titus, A Bit of Fry and Laurie, Little Britain, MASH, and pretty much anything that makes me laugh, really. Favourite films: Too many to list here. I like musicals, Hitchcock's films, French movies, chick flicks, comedies, some guy-movies (you know, the ones with explosions and guns from beginning to end? lol). Favourite comic books/graphic novels: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Fables, Watchmen, Umbrella Academy, Grimm Fairy Tales. My first username was TheBlackPearlIsFreedom. I have written three 10-page essays on fan fiction as university work. My uni subjects just rock :D I love writing! It's relaxing and so much fun. Last December my parents and I stayed in London for nearly a week. After bugging them a lot they agreed to go with me to King's Cross Station, where I took several pictures of Platform 9 3/4 (one of them is the one serving as my avatar). There were loads of people there taking pics and I had to wait quite a while for my turn. If you're a Harry Potter fan and happen to be in London, go there! It's not much, just a plaque with the name of the platform and a trolley seemingly disappearing through the wall, but it was a nice touch to add to the station. I read the first HP book when I was 11 (I waited for an owl to come...alas, none came lol) and the books are a huge part of my life. Just to be able to be in King's Cross and see the platform, even a fake one, filled me with an immense joy. About Astoria Greengrass Ever since JK revealed the family trees Astoria Greengrass has intrigued me. Who is she? Which House was she in? How did she meet Draco? Did they marry for love? All we know about her is that she's Daphne's younger sister and that she's two years younger than Daphne and Draco. Personally, I believe that after the War the Malfoys would have wanted to keep a low profile and the best match for Draco would have been a pure-blood witch who was discreet and had a good head on her shoulders. That's why in my fics I'm making Astoria a Ravenclaw. Draco wouldn't have married some bimbo to be a trophy wife, he would have wanted an intelligent person to talk to and someone who hadn't been in direct and frequent contact with the smug, obnoxious brat he was in school (like the Gryffindors and, to some extent, the Hufflepuffs) because otherwise she wouldn't have given him a chance. And that brings me to another point. The Astoria I see in my head married him for love because no amount of money would have been enough to erase the social stigma of being married to a former Death Eater. No wonder they seemed so isolated during that small part in the Epilogue; in the new world order the Malfoys are not the "royalty" they once were. Either she was a greedy little bitca (any Buffy fans reading?) and didn't care, or she loved him enough to withstand the whispers and dirty looks. I see Astoria as a smart, sarcastic, strong and loving person. I would like to thank everyone who reviewed my stories, it really means a lot to me and I love you all :) | |||||||||
