Hard-drive death resulted in back-up failure, all work-in-progesses have been wiped and unlikely to be started up again.
Indefinite hiatus.

All my stories uploaded here are complete, finished, never to be updated again. It insanely irritates me when I'm reading something great when I realize, half way through the story, there are no more chapters posted and the last update was in 2003. So I don't post anything that I haven't finished. Having said that, I find all my 'complete' works to be highly cringeworthy. Basically I wrote these when I was 12-14 and I sucked, but some people seem to enjoy them so they won't be deleted.

Angsty drama, usually, with a side of bleak, black humour.
Complicated intricacy that ties up neatly at the end, parallel plotlines and non-linear narration.

Pairing
Not a topic I'm particularly fussy about, generally I feel that if the quality of the writing and the ideas are impressive, any pairing works fine.
I do favour unusual pairings over generic H/G and R/Hr though. And yes, I slash. I slash hard.

Character
My favourites are flexible and fun to work with and a bit mysterious:
Sirius, all the Marauders really, Snape, Malfoys, Mad-Eye, Luna, Voldemort, interesting one-off characters (e.g. Fleur, Viktor)

Plot
Azaban!Harry, betrayed!Harry, Severitus, independent!Harry, powerful or dark or evil- I don't know why, but they're so interesting.
AU like when Lily and James don't die and as a result, everything is different... or when Harry's brother or sister is the boy/girl-who-lived
Not-Gryffindor!Harry
Quality Harry angst and pissed-off!Harry
Time turner stories, and Marauder era fun

My all time favourite is when Harry disappears at a young age, and reappears later, very different.
I hate manipulated!Harry, or depressed!Harry having some girl (usually Ginny) yell at him and make him snap out of it. Yawn.
I don't read stories with bad grammar, or stories without good plots (unless it's smutty porn & in that case, only at adultfanfiction.net)

A shortish fic, 6 or so chapters perhaps, though a tough read as it's out of chronological order. Harry runs away at a young age, and is later found and forced to attend Hogwarts. He manages to escape his 'imprisonment' and lives in relative peace for some time. After that, all hell breaks loose and the hunt is on. Very strong themes of control, includng power binding.

She Awards Me Pain

A young woman and 2 brothers with nothing in common apart from their immortality find their lives interwoven when each is picked to represent their school as champion in the Tri-Wizarding tournament. As the tournament moves forward however, it becomes clear that eternal glory is not the only prize, and competing is not the only cost.
Pairings: Draco/Hermione, brief. Harry/Hermione

Two years after a 3rd year junior high class from Shiroiwa Junior High School participates in the Program, the Battle Royale Act goes international and comes to the UK. Guess who is chosen to compete this year? Hogwarts, perhaps? Based on, and essentially an extension of, Takami's controversial novel Battle Royale, which depicts a class of 9th graders shipped to an island and forced to fight each other to the death until only one remains as 'the winner'.

Deleted for violation of rules, pre-HBP, exists only as preliminary hand-written notes since my computer collapsed.
An angsty piece set in the Marauder era; Lily is quite the bitch and you hate her, but you cry when she does becuase she's weak and painfully real. James makes drastic changes for Lily, but those type of changes can never be good, and thus, Lily's dream turns into a nightmare.
Pairings: James/Lily, eventual. James/Various, in between.

An opposite to most Azaban!Harry tales. The time inside Azkaban makes up the bulk; how Harry gets there is skimmed over. The third and most vicious wave of the war is on, and the light side is stooping as low as it's enemies. Harry is rightfully convicted of murder and faces time in Azkaban. Years pass and he comes out, a changed man... but that's the problem; everyone else is still the same. Intense.
