Author has written 10 stories for Lord of the Rings, National Treasure, and Supernatural.

Public Service Announcement: Everything is on hold until December. I am currently participating in NaNoWriMo, which eats all of my time not already reserved for class, homework, and sleep. I know it's been a horrifyingly long time since I updated "Words, Words, Words," but I've been going through some massive plot overhauls and I can't seem to make the next chapter work properly. I'm going to try to get something posted in early December, but I don't want to make any promises. But rest assured I haven't abandoned the story!

Attention all profile creepers! I have a new posted at the top of my page. Please take a moment to answer the question. All of the fandoms listed are ones that I currently write for or that I would like to write for, and I want the readers' opinions on the subject. And I'm not above pimping out my favorite TV shows or movies -- if someone sees "Leverage" listed and wonders what it is, then watches a few episodes and becomes hopelessly addicted, who am I to complain? It's a great show!

Besides, I need to start coming up with some new plot bunnies -- which may sound silly, since I'm not even halfway done with my current fic. But that gives me plenty of time to work out the minutiae of the plot, make sure I have a good handle on the characters, and rewatch the movie or show (which I hardly need an excuse for anyway). Seriously, my 2008 NaNoWriMo novel was based off a plot idea I'd come up with two years prior. I'm good at this long-term development thing.

Also, feel free to PM me with ideas of what you'd like to see or a request-fic. I love brainstorming sessions!

Some Random Facts about Me:
-
I'm a college student in the United States
-I'm an English major (and don't start on me with Avenue Q songs, because I've heard it all before)
-I'm also minoring in Classics because of my adoration of ancient history
-I spend pretty much all of my free time on my laptop
-I have an unhealthy angst, whump, and h/c fixation with regards to pretty much any sort of media
-I'm agnostic with atheist tenancies, and I'm only telling you because so many other people like to put their religious preferences on their profile page.
-My car was named "Florence", before I had to abandon her to go off to college
-My favorite book is currently "Good Omens" by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. I have the edition with Aziraphale on the cover, and I have not succeeded in dropping it in the bath yet. I want to get another copy with Crowley on the cover, just so I can have them together. I'm weird like that.
-I'm not overly fond of romance in any incarnation and in any media (movies, books, TV, whatever). This is not to say I'm not a romantic at heart; I just don't like reading/watching it.
-On a semi-related note, I have a serious, serious problem with OFCs (original female characters). I can rarely bring myself to read stories with OFCs. I'm sorry, but that's how it is. Heck, I'm not a huge fan of ANY sort of OC, other than villainous ones. Please disregard my old fanfiction.
-I love Shakespeare. My favorite play is currently "The Tempest," but thus far I haven't read one I didn't like.
-My favorite word is "revelry"
-I enjoy playing water polo, ultimate frisbee, and soccer in my spare time
-I'm also taking up fencing and Irish dancing, because I'm much more likely to work out if I have a class to go to
-I am in love with Jensen Ackles
-... and Jared Padalecki
-... and Misha Collins
-...and the show "Supernatural" in general. In fact, it's the only show I plan my schedule around
-My other favorite (currently running) shows are "Chuck," "Leverage," "Psych," "Glee," "Sanctuary," and "Dollhouse".
-I love Joss Whedon and everything he's ever done.
-I miss the early seasons of CSI, when Eric Szmanada still had awesome hair and before half the characters left/died
-My favorite movies are "Ten Inch Hero" (which is an independent flick about the employees of a sandwich shop rather than an adult film, despite the title), "Boondock Saints," "Everything is Illuminated," "Charlie Bartlett," and "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead" (even if the end makes me very sad)
-I have a habit of latching onto the one character in a book, movie, TV show, whatever, that ends up dying. And then I am very sad, and I usually hunt down some anti-death AU fanfiction.
-On this note, I have a tendency to hate female characters, be they canon or OFCs. It's not Fangirl Syndrome, where I hate all female characters that even make a hint of a pass at my Preferred Attractive Male Character. Female characters have a tendency to be extremely one dimensional, exist only to provide sexual tension and/or be a love interest, and have a "dark, mysterious, angsty past" that makes me want to stab someone.
-I also generally hate the main character. I just hate everyone! Except the one guy that's marked for death, of course. Sigh.
-I have suddenly developed an unhealthy obsession with "The Road to El Dorado" because I took a class called "Intro to Latin American History" and my roommate has the soundtrack on her iTunes. We are very strange people, but we like it that way.
-I'm an insomniac
-I hate talking on the phone
-I'm a band nerd; I've played the flute for nine years now
-On that note (pun not intended... or is it?), my favorite music note is F sharp. Yeah, I have no idea why that's relevant to ANYTHING.
-I love music! My current favorite bands include Rise Against, Flogging Molly, the Real McKenzies, Reel Big Fish, Streetlight Manifesto, the Plain White T's, Blink-182, Angels and Airwaves, Jimmy Eat World, Dropkick Murphys, Anberlin, Metro Station, the Offspring, Fall Out Boy, We the Kings, the Beatles, Linkin Park, Lit, Nirvana, Oasis, My Chemical Romance, Queen, Third Eye Blind, Three Days Grace, U2, The Wombats, and Yellowcard, among others
-Did I mention I like angst, whump, and h/c? Well, I'm restating it now!
-For some reason I really like Galahad. As in Galahad, the Knight of the Round Table. I dunno, I just think he's awesome. I always have.
-Same goes for Will Scarlett (from Robin Hood and the many incarnations thereof)
-I reread things a lot. Fanfiction certainly falls under this category
-I'm a happy person! And I'm not actually a sadist! I just like angst, whump, and h/c!
-"Writer's block: when your characters get fed up with everything you put them through and go on strike" --my friend sent me this; I don't know who originally said it or where it came from, but in my case it's very true
-Rhiannon Aurorafai is my beta, one of my best friends, my partner in crime, my Script Frenzy cohort, my pen pal, my confidant, my jester, my shoulder to lean on, my source of friendly banter, the one I bounce ideas off of, the one who keeps me from going off the deep end with angst and h/c, the advocate for my characters, my better half, my NaNoWriMo buddy, and the one that puts up with all of my nonsense. I love her to bits and miss her dearly now that we're physically seperated due to college. I suggest you all check out her writing and hurl abuse at her until she updates. Because dammit, she needs to update.
-I'LL BETA FOR YOU! I'm pretty quick at responding and correcting grammar errors that I espy, and I'm pretty good at keeping an eye on errant plot holes. But recall that I tend to lean towards angst and I don't particularly enjoy romance. Check out my beta profile!
-I successfully won NaNoWriMo '08 and Script Frenzy '09 (the latter with my partner-in-crime, Rhiannon Aurorafai). I seriously recommend both of them for anyone who loves writing!
-I'm learning how to speak Russian. Why? Because I have to take a language as part of my major requirements and I wanted a European language that wasn't Latin-based, which left me with German or Russian. I picked Russian.
-I'm also taking a year of Latin on top of second-year Russian. I'm obviously crazy.

Now that you know an inordinate amount of information about me, let's get onto the actual reason you clicked the link to my profile: my writing.

I'm currently working on "Words, Words, Words", my newest National Treasure fanfic. It looks like it might end up being a long one (I'm gunning for at least 10 chapters) as well as filled with an inordinate amount of angst. Those who do not like that sort of thing are well advised to stay away. The title comes from Shakespeare's Hamlet and does actually tie into the plot in a bit of a figurative way. Sorry to those of you not literary analysis inclined -- I'm an English major, which means I'm more or less destined to over-analyze EVERYTHING. Anyway, this is a bit of a fun experiment for me because I'm writing in Ben's POV and am including a word and definition at the beginning of each chapter. Of course, the word has to do with the chapter, so it all comes full circle or something.

Other fandoms I want to write for include "Four Brothers," "Leverage," and "Boondock Saints". I just hope a plot idea comes along for one of those someday...

I also would like to direct you to the mystical land of Craic's non-existent original fiction, on the venerable fictionpress.com. Look me up there as Fedora Jim (there's a story behind this... if you want to hear it, head on over to http://www.fictionpress.com/~fedorajim )

Also, my beta and close friend Rhainnon Aurorafai and I are writing an original fiction story over at fictionpress.com. Our penname is Schatzi and Craic (guess which one I am), and the URL is http://www.fictionpress.com/~schatzi_and_craic

Anyhoo, thanks for stopping by and saying hi! Just email or PM me with comments/questions/concerns/financial donations and I'll gladly respond!
