Author has written 11 stories for Peter Pan, Treasure Planet, Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles, Harry Potter, Hunger Games, and Doctor Who.

My Bio:

Name: Dakota
Female
Age: 22
Live: Missouri

A few other things about myself: I speak sarcasm like a second language. You'll find that the characters in my stories do as well. I have a muse that like to come and go as he pleases. Lets just say I don't take to kindly to him barging in and then running off.

My Style:

My writing tends to be very dialogue-oriented. I think that for me, you can say so much more with, well, saying things. This doesn't mean that my fics are nothing but people talking; I have whole pages where the characters interact but hardly say two words to each other. My point is that the things characters say are so important to how the reader views them. No one wants to read about a guy who never says anything worth mention. Good dialogue makes things so much easier. But when people aren't talking they're thinking. My stories are very character-driven. I hardly ever come up with a plot first; its usually always the characters. My stories tend to be narrated by consciousness: I follow their thought processes, not my own. It normally leads to an interesting ride.

The Hunger Games

... It's like staring at the sun. But that is what he is: the sunlight for the frail little dandelion inside of me, the banisher of all of the dark and shadowy things in my mind. He makes me radiant and new. And I will absorb as much of that light as I can to become human again. / ... She has to know that I can't go back. We can't go back, not after last night. I've had the full taste. I've had her, and I'll die before she tells me that it was a mistake or that she's not ready or that -
There Comes You

IN PROGRESS
Grey Skies and Sunshine. My first multi-chapter Hunger Games fic. Follows the ups and downs of Katniss' first pregnancy. Post-Mockingjay.

COMPLETE
There Comes You. A two-part look at how The Girl on Fire and The Boy with the Bread return to each other after coming home to District 12. Post-Mockingjay. My first Hunger Games fic.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles

... in that moment John Connor couldn’t have been more thankful to his future self for sending her to him. Her mission had been to protect him from any threat, but it wasn’t a mission anymore. It was her decision. And he was thankful for that, too, because she saved him time and time again from the biggest threat of all: himself. He wondered if the future John had fought against the same pain, if he had been eaten away by the same guilt, and had made the decision to spare himself that pain in another lifetime. But however it had come about, John was glad Cameron had been sent. She made the guilt go away, she made him believe enough in himself to go on with the fight. She helped him understand. And he loved her more for it every day. Break

IN PROGRESS
Solace. Probably my favorite T:SCC fic to write, since it's purely romance, but I don't update often... A series of follow-up pieces to my one-shot "A Fighting Chance." Humorous and angsty and good for a quick read.

COMPLETE
Break. My first T:SCC fanfic, and the first to be multi-chaptered. An older John comes to terms with his own duality while fighting for Cameron's acceptance into the Resistance. Warning: This is not a happy fic.

A Fighting Chance. Part one in a duet of one-shots, and in my opinion, one of my best. Derek and Sarah face the past, and John has a revelation.

Birthdays and Builtdays. Part two in my T:SCC one-shot duet. John and Cameron discuss the importance of birthdays, and John muses about family.

Other

Recursivity: (IN PROGRESS) Doctor Who fanfiction. Post-Journey's End, TenTooxRose. Rose learns to accept the Metacrisis for what he is.

Gravity. (IN PROGRESS) Treasure Planet fanfiction. A chronicle of Jim's time at the Interstellar Academy, but its not just your run-of-the-mill "Jim goes to school and meets hot chick" fic!

Believe. (COMPLETE) Peter Pan fanfiction. Wendy's granddaughter Emily is taken to Neverland by Peter Pan, but what happens there is nothing like the stories she was told.

The Greatest Adventure. (IN PROGRESS) Sequel to Believe. Peter learns why growing up is, indeed, the greatest adventure of all.

A Short Guide to Reviewing (borrowed with permission from Metroid13):

It's no secret that most of the readers on this site tend not to be connoisseurs of the written word. Let's face it, this site is essentially reserved for the dregs of literary society. A training ground, if you would. It's to be expected that not everyone here is exactly good at this sort of thing, much less literary criticism. However, it gets truly laughable and downright sad when someone has to go and spell "write" as "right," "who" as "hoo," and so on and so forth in their reviews. It's even worse when they keep their thoughts down to one simple word; "Good," or "bad."

So if you're planning to review something (and you always should if you've taken the time to read someone's work,) keep these tips in mind:

Give the writer your thoughts: I know a lot of people don't exactly have the creative ability to put their actual thoughts down to words, but you can at least try. When your review essentially boils down to "cool story bro," it's a review not worth having. Take some time, reflect a little, and articulate yourself as best you can. This makes the author feel vindicated in his/her work and will want to keep going so they can impress you more (or fix their mistakes.)

Spellcheck: No, don't boot up Microsoft Office just to spellcheck a damn review, just give it a quick once over. If you know you've spelt something wrong, do your best to fix it. The author will roll his/her eyes when they see that you've spelt an easy word wrong. Story is not stroy, write is not right, and "u" is not a word. They take the time to make their stories as readable as possible (or they should, at least,) so you can at least do them the common courtesy of responding in kind.

Be critical: Praise is always good. So is criticism. If you can't find something to criticize about what you've just read, it's rarely a review worth having. If the story is so good that it doesn't have any problems, it shouldn't be on fanfiction dot net.

Be concise: Don't go off on a tangent about something that's completely irrelevant to the story you've read. Stay on subject and your review will actually be read instead of skimmed.

Short vs Lengthy: Although I've seen that authors generally appreciate long reviews, you wanna keep your thoughts brief and concise. But thorough!

this r gud!: If you love a chapter, or a story in general, say why! Don't just leave it at that. The author will bang his/her head against a wall wondering what you actually liked about it.
