To take you on a strange Journey….. NEWS ANNOUNCEMENT NOW THAT HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS IS OUT AND I HAVE READ IT (IN LESS THAN 5 HOURS I MIGHT ADD) I WILL CONTINUE MY HARRY POTTER FAN FIC BUT BE WARNED IT WILL BE SLIGHTLY ALTERNATE UNIVERSE I have loved to write since I could hold a pencil and have been telling stories since I learned to talk. While I do write a lot of original fiction and screenplays, my favorite hobby is writing fan fiction. The ones I have posted are just the tip of the iceberg. I have tons of fan fiction written in various binders and notebooks scattered around my house. I don’t get much time at home in front of a computer so when I post I try to get as much as possible up. I’m trying to invest in a laptop so I can at least get stories typed up when not at home. My days when I’m not at home provide me with a lot of biable hours(just not in front of a computer) so I tend to just sit and write with good old fashioned pencil (or pen) and paper. With my fiction I end up writing series because I just keep thinking of things to happen that wind up all going together like a continuous time line (like a TV show) but I don’t necessarily write them in the order they go so that poses another posting problem. I like to create my own characters to insert into fandoms BUT NOT ALWAYS I also work to try very hard to create no Mary or Gary Sues (thank heavens for Mary Sue litmus test. I have a friend that loves doing them for everyone even established characters) I have a bunch of early fiction that will never see the light of day because they contain uber Sues (4 men 3 women) The best part of OC’s is making him or her fit into an established series/setting without drastically changing the mood/tone/feel of a series or their characters. (Gil Grissom is the CSI resident bug guy there doesn’t need to be a woman with just as much if not more knowledge) Making them reasonably fit is the reason I scraped a character named Bethany who was to be put into Life on Mars. She just didn’t go with the rest of them even though she was a good character. I might give her some work in an original fiction (minus the time traveling comatose detective Sam Tyler and the lovable grump DCI Gene Hunt) Ok starting to ramble the sugar is starting to wear off.
