I just completed my first semester of college (which completely sucked out my soul, by the way -science apparently isn’t my thing…) and am out until the 15th of January. I am totally pumped! My schedule is as follows: 1.) Hang with totally, unbelievably awesome friends 2.) Chillax with wonderful (if not occasionally infuriating) family members 3.) Start writing for fan-fiction again That’s right! I am soon returning to FF . net after a long (but necessary) absence, with a few new things in store for the new year. I am so excited! I have a new fandom to write for (Danny Phantom), and a ton of new story ideas to put into action. Will I actually go through with them all? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see! September 21, 2007 My writing has recently come under a fierce and unrelenting attack - you guessed it! - by my own thrice-cursed lack of confidence in myself. Looking back at my stories (namely, As My Daughter Wishes) is very much like pressing on an old bruise. There are times when I debate taking stories off the web (again, As My Daughter Wishes), if not simply removing myself entirely from the fan fiction community. I haven’t done this, obviously, and I do not plan to. I still am working on my stories here, despite my glaring absence, and when life allows me to do so, I will begin posting again. I have some very exciting (in my opinion) new titles coming out (those who are following my Components series will not be disappointed), and I plan to continue stories previously left untouched. I do have some bad news, however, for the oldest of my fans. As My Daughter Wishes will not be updated in the near future, if ever. Looking at the story literally disgusts me. In fact, I am ashamed knowing that I wrote it. Its creation took place in my first year of high school, and I know that it shows. The cliché’s, the lack of character insight, the endless, supposedly dramatic pauses in what should have been simple sentences… Let’s not even touch upon story structure. The point is: I cannot progress with the story (though I know very much how I would have it end) with it in its current state. If it is ever continued (and that is a very heavily emphasized ) it will only be after the story is completely rewritten. Doubtless this disappoints a few (I highly doubt any of my old watchers have remained so patient as to frequent this page), but the fact that something is popular does not mean it is of quality worthy of merit. I would rather keep my short stories like Anchor, with their modest review count, and feel proud of myself, than keep a “review-dumpster” that does nothing but emphasize the immaturity I long since have left behind. STORIES Upcoming Titles For Avatar: the Last Airbender: Components of Courtship - sequel to Components of Love, this story (again told in four parts) will observe the ups and downs of Aang and Katara’s relationship and the transition from restrained ardor to awakened passion. Fully outlined and soon to be posted. Components of Ceremony - third part in the Components series, this story focuses on the social and familial pressures regarding tradition, propriety, and the bonding of two people. Simply put: the trials of engagement and marriage. Components of Rapture - fourth and final part in the Components series, this story is by far the most adult-themed, as if focuses on the details of Aang and Katara’s life together. A story with stylish lemon content? Most definitely. The Firebird - a very hard story to write, and I'd imagine harder to read. It is increadibly dark. I'm still not sure if I want to post it, but the message it conveys - I think - is a powerfull one. And one that needs to be shared. For Danny Phantom: Daily Dosage - as the title somewhat hints, this will be a collection of near daily "warm-ups" - short stories and drabbles meant to help me familiarize myself with the DP universe and the characters that inhabit it. Will it have stylistically themed chapter titles? Of course. Will the content be of high and refreshing quality? I will do my best to make it so. Will it, in fact, be updated daily? ...No. No, it most likely will not. For Tamora Pierce: Beauty - another collective piece, this will contain everything from short stories, to letters, to drables - all focusing on the inner musings of Tortallan men and the increadible women that helped to shape their world. Pairings (not necessarily romantic) of every sort will be featured to help explore this concept. I am particularly excited about this project because - writing in this compacted style rather than feature-length, as it were - I will finally be able to write for my favorite tragic/odd couple. Tempered Steel - this story (probably 11 chapters in length) will only be attempted if my writing for said couple is of good quality. In Progress Lament for the Melodramatic - though it might surprise some people, no - I have not abandoned this story. I am trying to keep it close to canon - a feat which (being more difficult than it should be) is slowing me down considerably. I might have to revise/rewrite the first chapter before I post any new chapters. Under Renovation Components of Love - I am currently revising/rewriting some parts in this story as I write its sequel. More than likely these revisions will be posted when I post said sequel.Redemption - Surprising? Yes. But entirely possible. I do not like this story, because (stylistically) I find it sadly liking. There is also the possibility that I will continue The Heart Nonpareil (a story worth my time and effort), and if I do I need a better starting point. Regardless, I do not want it sitting there in such a condition as it is now. | |||||||||
