I'm in University.
I write a lot of Harry Potter.
And I've been here for some time.
I write primarily alternate-universe works (I have fifty million unposted writings on my computer to back me up). I am in the middle of my second posted story, and working on the beginnings of two-thousand new projects. Some of them may be up soon. Maybe.
My quirks on reading fanfiction:
I'm open to pretty much anything, as long as it is well-written. The only thing I absolutely cannot read is incest. Student/adult pairings aren't really my cup of tea, however (although I have read a few good ones). I hate it when authors make Sirius (my favorite character and thus the main subject of works that I read) an oblivious moron and/or a manwhore in his youth. Slash is fine, but it has to be sensible (I don't see how Voldemort could be paired with, say, Hagrid, for example). Most everything else is good with me. Plotlines are necessary. Spellcheck is your friend.
Just for kicks, the Mary-Sue Litmus Test: http://ponylandpress.nfshost.com/ms-test.html
In my work, you will not find:
~MPreg
~Grown men who behave/talk like teenage girls
~Pedophilia or any cross-generational pairings; incest
~Uncalled-for nicknames (ex. Siri, Remi, 'Mione)
~Massive departures from character
~Large amounts of fluff
~Any "fifth Marauder" nonsense
~Ridiculous pairings (ex: Dumbledore/Harry, Snape/Petunia, Draco/Ron)
~Tragic characters who unwittingly change the life of So-and-So forever, blah blah blah.
~Frequent and regular updates. Sorry, I'm pre-med.
Fin!
