DISCLAIMER: All of the works that I post on this site are purely fan-made, I do not post them for profit, and I do not own the rights to any of the fandoms for which I write. My fanfics are attempts to display aspects of the storylines/characters/settings that I think deserve a deeper, or more critical examination, and hope to inspire other writers who share the joy in the fandom. I love these series, games, comics, what have you. But I have no economic control over them, and am not discouraging anyone from going out and spending time and/or money on supporting the original works (In fact, it would be better if you did, as then there would be a common basis for understanding what I am responding to in my writing).

Notice: My computer is broken, I'll try to update regularly, but it will be spotty.

I update my chapter fics regularly on the weekends. This means Fridays some weeks. Or Saturdays. Or Sundays. Or even Mondays. My life gets crazy. On some Wednesdays I try to release bonus fics. These will usually be one-shots. If you're following any of my chapter fics, I highly suggest that you put me on your author alerts, because the Wednesday one-shots will often be parts that I could not fit into any given story.

About the Disclaimer: I recently discovered that Marvel, which owns the rights to many of the fandoms that I write for, was bought by Disney. Disney is a big, scary company with very strict views on how their works may be toyed with, viewed and distributed. I do not want to be sued, and fanfiction is, I'll admit, an extremely gray area of copyright law. I'm not a lawyer, and I do not know how far my rights and protections extend in this area. I hope that Fanfiction.net does know, and would stop allowing us to post fanfiction if owners of the original works in question saw fanfiction of their works as illegal. However, I don't know how/if FF.N is familiar with copyright law, or how much it can protect fan authors if big scary companies like Disney decided to expunge fanfiction. So, I wanted my intentions with my fanfiction to be clearly stated. My fanfiction is just fanwork, made for no profit, and in the hope that it sparks more stories and conversation among fans. If this gives me even some protection against the terrifying monoliths of ignorance and legal difficulties, I'll take it.

I've noticed that my Author's Notes are getting too long again. For any commentary that I do not feel is absolutely necessary for the current chapter/one shot (such as anonymous reviewer replies), I'll post it here, along with anything else that I may have to say about potential projects.

Stupid School Project:

Goofn1: As for Lance and the Jeep, to quote an old Beatles song entirely out of context, he'll get by with a little help from his friends. I'm sorry report I don't have a lot of Lance-centric chapters planned for a bit. In the show he had no role until Middleverse, which is a problem. He is going to be a prominent figure in pretty much all of the stuff coming up, of course, what with all of his friends about to have the universe fall down around their ears. On the pairing front, I'm a huge Lancitty fan, despite the fact that this is primarily Kiotr. We'll see more of the Lancitty once the gang starts to write the second season. But that's far in the distant future, as of right now. Closer to what I'm writing now, I've done some research, and the Sadie Hawkins Dance traditionally takes place in November, so the events of Shadow Dance are going to happen before the tail end of the season one events! Where or not Lance actually gets to dance with Kitty remains to be seen, of course. He and Exie seem to have an odd relationship building, but it's a brotherly rather than romantic relationship. In this universe, Lance's lack of a stable family life makes him try to build a family when he makes deep friendships (though you'll notice he often tries to be the guy that everyone can count on, which might not always be the best for him, when he needs help).

Hanna L.,thanks a bunch for your advice. More dialogue is easier to write, and I think it might help the pacing as well. I'm thrilled that you think the basic plot is good enough for you to read.

On the "whut is MF thinking?!" front, I'm a little worried that there will be too many love interests going at once. It's not a pretty place. On the other hand, this is how it worked out, and I'm really enjoying Rogue/Cody. I do have another Cody pairing that I like better, but the other character is not willing to come into the limelight on that one. I guess I should point out at this point, that while I love reading, writing and drawing fight scenes, I've never taken a self defense class, and know very little about the "proper" way to do things. The hip throw was pulled from The Protector of the Small I think. One of the Tortall books, anyway.

Also, I was hoping that the fight scene sort of mirrored the action of Rogue recruit. Was it noticeable? Did it help?

Future Projects:

I've been challenging myself to write an Evo oriented fic that goes no longer than 13 chapters! Shockers! I'm hoping that it gets off the ground okay, as in order to tell all of the story I wanted to, I had to add "Bonus" chapters. Yeah, so it looks as though right now it's going to be 13 chapters, plus massive epilogue, plus four one-shots. I basically qualify Bonus chapters as the leg work I would need if I were ever to write a sequel (no retconning for me!). They take place in the story, but as they don't advance the main plot, they aren't counted as real. Think of the "Mindbender" episode in Season Two of Evo. Huge significance to Season Three and Four, but simply foreshadowing in Season Two.

If I ever try to introduce ten new characters all in the same chapter and work in a fight scene with twenty people and no clear focus again, will someone politely shoot me? CoH is probably going to need more clean up before publishing. My big problem is that all the characters are ones that I know and love very well, but if you didn't follow the old New Mutants comics you might not have a clue who the heck Jetstream is. Also, one might wonder why I made the Evo-ized version of the team so large, as technically there have only been, at most, seven Hellions at any one time. I guess my excuse is that I like all of them, and so I included all of them. I tried to cut down, I really did. I made a cut from the team -- and then I decided to Evo-ize another of my old favorites because Jimmy needs a love interest, and I am playing with the idea of introducing Deadpool somewhere down the line. So that brought the team back to nine, and then I realized that there was an old NM character that I missed a lot, and it would have been interesting seeing her with the Hellions, rather than at Xavier's. So that made the team ten strong. Admittedly, I decided that she shouldn't be part of the official team, so we won't see her in battle except for the next official chapter (six), and the one after that (seven), and then again in chapter 11, and possibly in chapter 12. Yeah, shoot me if I ever do this again. And Cracks introduces another old NM character. I'm a third of the way through, and I've only just managed to introduce all of the major players of the fic. I must be a lunatic.
