Author has written 9 stories for Slayers. My daughter introduced me to the wonders of anime, although I grew up on a heavy diet of American animation. I have several anime favorites and am discovering more, but only Slayers somehow has unlocked a very long dormant spate of creative writing. A few earlier versions of my ficcies have appeared elsewhere under my other pseudonym, but the sites have disappeared, except for Ichiban Victory's Slayer's Victory Almost Complete Slayers Fanfiction Collection at http://www.purple-gizmo.com/ichiban_victory/slayersff_guild/index.html . The fics re-posted here have been re-edited with some things either added, deleted, or re-written. I'm an aged, hopeless romantic with an appreciaton for crazed humor, puns, and anything with a folk culture flavor. The last particularly shows up in the earlier written attempts. If you want angst, avoid my stuff. There's enough horrid crap happening in the real world, that I can't write truly angsty ficcies. I gave it a try in Kin and Kind, but not with great success, I fear. I am in great awe of those who do angst very well. Myself-I guess I need to write happy endings to balance real life's bad ones. Let's hear it for escapism! Crones just wanna have fun! If you feel inclined to read other of my stuff here on ff.net, I recommend skipping my ficcie, Cross Purposes, because I think there's a much better version of it as the third drabble of Gourry Walked into a Bar, But Lina Ducked. (Some restaurants in the U.S. have an advertising item that gives me the creeps everytime I see it, some versions more than others.) I'd also skip So Who's Perfect, or Fourth Wall Eyed. I'm sorry so many have read it so far. I think my best story is Smell of Success. There's a lack of an a-pundance of bad word play, and silliness is toned down. Before I wrote that, most people liked Slug Guard best. Anime favorites so far: Slayers, Inu Yasha, R. Kenshin, Trigun, Witch Hunter Robin, Full Metal Alchemist, .Hack/sign (mainly because of the music) Favorite anime movie: Spirited Away, although Howl's Moving Castle is a close second. (I so relate to Sophie!) Music favorites: Almost all kinds, but as an ex-folk dancer, I'm particulary drawn to Celtic, Eastern European, and Middle Eastern music as well as American old time fiddle tunes. | |||||||||
