I'd like to thank Jedi'Pirate Jaeh for being a beta and the best National Treasure pal ever :D Also thank you Dillyn Breeze for your encouraging reviews and advice! Thank you to my sister (you can read her stories through the link at the bottom) for betaing my chapters with a cold calculating eye XD And thank you to everyone who reads and reviews my stories! You guys rock!!
Hi guys! I am a college student majoring in cartooning. Yes, there is such a thing. I decided to make a proper profile for this site. I had one before but I deleted it for some weird reason. I enjoy writing and reading fanfiction
Current Fandoms: National Treasure, Heroes, The Office, Monk, Harry Potter, Scrubs, Narnia, Star Trek: The Orginal Series, other various books and movies
Dead or Dormant Fandoms: Lord of the Rings, A Series of Unfortunate Events, Everyone Loves Raymond, Fairly Odd Parents, Danny Phantom, Homestar Runner, other various books and movies
Favorite Genres in Fanfics: Well, I pretty much will read whatever if it is well written and if it doesn't contain slash, graphic sexual content, most out of canon pairings (there are a few I like but not that many), those kind of things. But I am quite partial to family and brotherly love and fluffiness along with a good dose of hurt-comfort. And I tend to like angst or drama.
I thank all of my reviewers at the beginning of the chapter because I decided it's proper to do so. Out of the hundreds of hits a story gets, only ten or fifteen or so people actually review. I think these people deserve acknowledgments and thanks for taking the time to read my amateur story. The reviews help me keep writing because it gives feedback as well as encouragement!
Fanfiction Pet Peeves: Please guys, if your story contains slash, graphic situations and such, please put a warning up, because not everyone wants to read that kind of thing. I have started reading stories and read things I really didn't want to read because an author didn't have the decency to put up a warning or something. It's just proper etiquette.
Along those same lines, if your story is slash, make it CLEAR so those who want to avoid it can avoid it. Sometimes it's confusing because the genre will be 'friendship' and nothing in the summery will say slash. Or in a friendship story say something like 'slashy undertones' or 'can be seen as...' People can view it however they want in the first place, so why would you write that? It's one way or the other, people. You don't have to agree with me, this is just what annoys me and I'm pointing it out.
Another pet peeve, Mary-Sues. I don't have a problem with OC's as long as they're interesting and well-written. But too often they fall into the Mary-Sue pool of horror. Also I have a strong aversion to self-insert fics. Sometimes they can be funny, but most of the time it ends up just annoying me.
Current Project: The Last Full Measure of Devotion- National Treasure. For Ben and Riley, a wilderness treasure hunt quickly turns into a struggle for survival. I've been outlining this story for a long time. Believe it or not the idea came to me when I saw the Book of Secrets trailer. Two scenes immediately came to mind and they're going to be pivotal points in the story. If I ever get around to posting them T.T Also just for fun, I'm going to try and make the icons on my profile page correspond with the chapter.
Previous Projects:
Memories- This story took a school year to write. For me, finishing things proves to be hard so I'm proud of myself for finishing it. Now that I look back on it, there are some things I like about it some things I hate. Through writing it I was able to get a better gist of my own writing style. Unfortunately, other then here I don't write as much as I used to. I'm thankful for everyone who read and reviewed it! I still appreciate it, it helped me finish it up!
Loyal (oneshot)- This one proved to be a popular oneshot! After seeing the second NT movie I was all in a huff (like all the other Riley fangirls) about his obvious mistreatment. I wrote this fanfic to make myself feel better!
The Visit (oneshot)- Basically the question, what would happen if Ben went to visit Ian in jail? How would the conversation go ect. Ben and Ian have more in common than they're willing to admit.
Five Years Gone (oneshot)- I had this story for a while before posting it. Riley has all these angst stories. Ben needs more angst stories. I think it's interesting to write about such a strong character and see what would happen if they break down. Are they able to get themselves out of their rut, or does it turn out they need someone to help them though?
And my other stories I wrote like, years ago. I keep them up because I put some time and effort into them.
