Author has written 32 stories for Tales of Symphonia, World Ends With You, Portal, and Team Fortress 2.

There's a fine line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line.

02/12/12: Deleted a fic or two that I didn't really care for. They didn't really have any reviews or faves though so I don't think anyone should mind. If you do though you can email me and I would be willing to send them to you. After my own experiences with an author deleting some of her stuff that I really liked, I wouldn't turn anyone down if they cared that much.

I'm Tabbz, and this is my corner of cyberspace. I started writing here in the Tales of Symphonia section and gained lots of my experience there...but I've been reading here long before that. I'm not like in a thousand fandoms yet, I'm kinda picky, but I've taken a liking to writing for Portal recently so...yeah, I know, I'm pretty random with my...fandoms? Heh, rhyme.

If you are a writer and need some help, don't hesitate to contact me. I'm most easily reached as fauxpromises@hotmail.com, so add me if you want to discuss it. Don't be shy. =) I'm also on Gaia! Faux Promises, add me if you'd care to.

Well, I suppose I'll say a few things about me. I'm going into my third year of college. I have an AA in Communication and am currently working on my lower-division courses to get into programming/IT. Change of major sucks, but when you hate math, it's kind of intimidating to try a major that involves a lot of it.

I collect stuff. I collect video games and incidentally Bratz dolls. I never played with dolls as a little girl, it was all video games, but I like to display them since they're pretty to look at. I also like to play around with makeup a lot, people tell me I'm quite good at doing it. I have four parakeets and a German Shepherd. Most loyal, intelligent, (and total baby) dog you will ever see.

Birthday: 2/8/1991

Gender: Phee-male.

Location: Northern California

Nicknames: Primarily Tabbz, as I said. On here, though, I use Faux Promises, or FP for short.

Zodiac: Aquarius in the Western one, Sheep in the Chinese one.

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral, according to the official test. :)

Bands: The Postal Service, They Might Be Giants, Evanescence, No Doubt, The Hush Sound, Audioslave, Red Hot Chili Peppers, R.E.M.

Shows: Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Adventure Time, Invader Zim, South Park, Dragonball Z, Ghost Hunters, Chowder, Flapjack, Spongebob, MST3K, Ghost Adventures, Tru TV's World's Dumbest, Beavis & Butthead.

Movies: Pirates of the Caribbean (the first two only, third one sucked), K-PAX, Team America, I Robot, Wild Wild West, Sweeney Todd, 1408, WALL-E.

Games: Mostly, RPGs. Final Fantasy series, Tales of Symphonia, Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead, Katamari series, Harvest Moon, Portal, World Ends With You, Disgaea, Okage, Okami, Spyro the Dragon, Crash Bandicoot, Dark Cloud. I like video games a lot and probably will for the rest of my life. ;p They're mentally stimulating, if you know which ones to play.

Likes: Reading, writing, Photoshop experimenting, video games, talking to animals, the smell after it rains, warm places, debating, analyzing problems that are way beyond my control, all-weather friends, baking, explaining things to other people, improper fractions, getting top comment on Youtube, laughing until I have tears in my eyes, collecting things, being right.

I have written several romance-oriented pieces here in the past, but I am dismayed at how little love there is for platonic stuff. Why do people downsize friendship to a less meaningful or important relationship? This is one of my biggest issues with same-sex pairings in fandom. They are so prevalent that people have somehow gotten this perception that it is not edgy or cool enough for two people to have a friendship or family relationship. I had this conversation with someone via Youtube comments because of people going crazy interpreting a scene in Adventure Time to mean that Bubblegum and Marceline were into each other sexually. It's really frustrating, especially as someone who is heterosexual and just does not naturally read homosexual relationships out of everything I see. Friendship is just as valid as a sexual relationship, period.

Dislikes:

Yaoi. Slash. Shounen-ai. Whatever you want to call it, I won't read it. I'm sorry if that offends you, but I have tried and I just don't have a fondness for it. There's something about it that just nauseates me. It's especially so of course when it's pedophilia (or xenophilia...) but honestly I just don't like to read it in general. More than anything I do have to find it sad that it's extremely difficult to find a well-explored relationship between two characters of the same gender without it turning sexual, and usually in a really clumsily done way too. If it's made explicitly sexual in nature in canon, sure, I won't fault anyone for writing it, but so much of it is just...so forced or so far removed from reality...anyway, that's the end of my rant. My story and I'm sticking to it.

Also not a fan of incest, lemon (never was very comfortable with it, as it is usually the same blunt actions with interchangeable names), radicalism, web-drama, pedophilia/lolicon, people who promote tolerance but refuse to listen to other people's opinions, hypocrites, the Twilight series, Zelos being portrayed as an irritating and insipid whore, Kingdom Hearts, Naruto.

I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, WRITE EITHER PORN OR SLASH OF ANY KIND. I DON'T EVEN READ IT QUITE FRANKLY. JUST STATING THIS SO THAT NO ONE REQUESTS SOMETHING OF THIS NATURE, I DO NOT LIKE HAVING TO TURN SOMEONE AWAY. THANKS.
