So I was on vacation for the past month. It probably explains the silence, neh?

But yeah, during that R and R, I had a sudden bout of crazy plot-age and thus 'Attractions' came to be. I thought, I wrote, and I posted. Simple. Nothing fancy. Just something crazy :)

Shoot. I need a journal for this but I don't have one (I'm not good at keeping it up; I'm paranoid).

Anyway, on to my main point. Today, I received one of the best and perhaps loveliest anonymous reviews ever for Attractions (and no - okay maybe - it had something to do with the length and excellent insight). I'm so utterly thrilled right now - from the top of my head to the tip of my toes. Haa. The epic review tickled me in all the right places. (I'm sorry if that sounds dirtier than it's supposed to be. My mind hasn't quite shut off that weird brand of humor of mine.)

But since 'Orchid' (the anon-y) didn't leave contact info, I can't give the review its deserved response (because, come on, I can't ignore someone who has obviously put thought into a review!). So here I am, going to give them (and you, reader) my own insights on the whys of this story and my fangirly mush-and-gush. Hopefully Orchid won't punt me into next week for writing a response in a public forum like this.

Well. Onwards~

Hello Orchid. First and foremost: THANK YOU for the wonderful review. It certainly brightened up my day. I actually wasn't expecting response for this since the story's kind of wacky and out on a limb. Not to mention, the immediate branding that is the label 'foursome' would turn off most people from reading it (fact: the hit count rate for this story is really slow but I love going against the grain so...meh). But totally! I'm really stoked that you enjoyed this short and I agree, there really aren't enough Team Seven stories (friendship or romance) floating around (as in all four members and not just the runts - that has always been a pet peeve of mine when other writers label a story as Team Seven but Kaka-sensei never makes an appearance goshdarnit).

(Oh and hey! If Naruto crossover'd with Ouran High School Host Club tickles your fancy, I really, really recommend Take It from desolate butterfly and Yami White Rain. It has - in my humble opinion - the best Team Seven foursome ever. Hee. I shamelessly giggle every time I think of that story.)

And yes. Lavender Brown's appearance (heh, superficial is a good description). I advocate giving minor characters paragraph time in my stories when I can. They don't get enough love :(

As for the lack of Golden Trio and Team Seven interaction, you've hit the nail right on the head. In my mind, this took place during Deathly Hallows (yep, which is why Professor Snape is Headmaster Snape now). But in all honesty...I really haven't completely thought through the entire scape of this story like I would have for my multi-chapters so this might be the reason why you saw all those plotholes (I actually didn't notice some of them until you pointed them out!).

If I had really planned this as multi-chapter, I imagine it'd be an action, adventure, drama fiction. As for the vague details and background (:D), Snape was the one to hire the shinobi. He is, after all, a double-agent. Why not bring in people trained in the art of infiltration, war, and intelligence gathering? And this, of course, is where the ninja from Konoha come in. Team Seven sans Kakashi were sent into Hogwarts at the beginning of the year to carefully keep the students in line (i.e. they were snitches for the Voldemort side but in reality, they didn't do a particularly good job of it - often muddling things up for both ends rather than having one side prevail - a stalemate if you will). They used generic persona to integrate into student society to gain the trust of the oppressed side and used discretion to prevent the student's abuse. Kakashi comes in after three months of serving under Moldie-Voldie as an informant (Ahem. He disguised himself as an Iwa missing-nin); he actually had a hand in some of the nefarious plots Voldemort cooked up. But I digress, using the three months as intelligence gathering and to understand the uglier depths of wizarding society (they need to know who they're up against!), Kakashi the informant was KIA and Kakashi the student arrives at Hogwarts (dun dun dun. Suspicion. Plots afoot.).

And uh. Somewhere in the story, Tenzou and Sai or Kiba Inuzuka (or Hana Inuzuka...I'm leaning more towards Hana cause the story needs a feminine touch what with Tenzou and his Wood Release jutsu-more innuendo insert here-) tracks and keeps tabs on Harry, Hermione, and Ron. Or something to that effect

(Oh. I might as well claim this plot idea as mine on the get-go. If you're interested in writing that plot up there, feel free to contact me. And if anyone takes this idea without my permission, I'm going to slap you down and whine lots (haha).)

And your valid critique, Orchid! Love it.

But yes, you're absolutely right - and I realized this now after you pointed it out - that this didn't necessarily have to be a crossover T-T (In hindsight, I don't think I integrated the Harry Potter world very well). I think I need to explain myself on the reasoning behind writing this as a crossover in the first place.

The seed of this idea came from my contempt against Naruto-centric Harry Potter crossovers. Now don't get me wrong, those stories are fine and dandy (and a few of them are superbly written), but I got really frustrated with the lack of Kakashi (D: I'm coming off as an obsessive fangirl, aren't I?)...So one thought led to another and I decided to write a Kakashi-centric crossover (which is also a partial reason why I wrote From His Excerpts) where the focal point is on Kakashi from Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke's POV. I'm also combining multiple themes in this story (dysfunctional Team Seven love, young Kakashi, attractive Kakashi under the mask parody (a 'mild' parody since no one is dropping dead from his sheer gorgeousness - except for Lavender who fainted - thus explaining my, uhm, overzealous explanation of 'super genjutsu plus veela' illusion lol)).

And then to your second point about Sasuke and his coming back to Konoha and his obvious comfortable bantering. My answer to his behaviour: I...I really didn't think that far LOL. Wow. Uhm. Yeah. Fail on my part. I'm just going to have to shrug helplessly at you haha. Or you know what! I'm just going to fall back on the fact that this wasn't meant to make perfect sense haha (Oh I'm horrible XD).

But if you want feedback, I liked the second idea - the one with the underlying misery. That has good angst potential XD; But yeah. You totally caught me there. (Let's ignore that plothole, shall we? :D)

For your third point, yeah. A bit overboard XD; But it was, uhm, mostly intentional? XD My parody executions need some practice, I think.

Woah. Don't apologize over long, intelligent reviews. They make me happy. So very happy. It means you care enough to let your opinions be known.

Disclaimer: I've been posting stories here for awhile now, so if you read anything 'old', I hope you don't break your braaaainnn~ as those are my learning attempts at writing and some of them have 'badfic' or 'cliched' written all over it. I haven't had the chance to modify/delete them yet (which I will with given time because wow, OOC much?) but you can totally see the change in writing styles over the years.

...But of course, that doesn't mean my more recent fictions aren't 'badfic' or 'cliched'. To me, they just don't seem like they are yet.
