Author has written 1 story for Song of the Lioness.

You may call me Linya... or anything else that suits your fancy.

I'm 18.

female.

anything else...?

I like ice cream and cookies, and chicken. Oh and clouds are cool too. I love looking at the clouds--at any time of day. They're simply beautiful.

I'm more of a reader than a writer. At least I am at this point in my life.

In the fanfiction realm I mainly stick to the Harry Potter and Naruto fics. And I'm an absolutely hopeless romantic. I try to avoid slash and overly smutty fics, but sometimes they make their way onto my favorite list as background to an otherwise wonderful story.

favorite HP pairing: Severus Snape/Hermione Granger

I also appreciate canonical pairings and: Harry/Hermione, Luna/Ron, Luna/Harry, Luna/Draco, etc.

Naruto favorite pairings:

SasuHina, SasuSaku, NaruHina, NaruSaku, SakuKaka, and any other random ones that work/are well-written.

A little while ago I was reading a story called Pridian Moon -- It's a pretty good HP/Naruto crossover featuring Kakshi, and I looked at the author, SalineRabbits' profile, and loved the way she described the fanfiction genre. This is what she said:

"Now...here's a question: why do I write fanfiction? ... Well, I'll tell you: fanfiction is writing for the lazy! It's like eating at McDonalds. You get a nice, neat little story all wrapped up to go with fries and soda and a hamburger with tomatoes on it (especially if you explicitly asked for none). Then you take it home and sprinkle gratuitous condiments on it, and you're done. Fanfiction is the fast food of writing. And even though most of us resent that a little, it's cheap and quick, and sometimes tastes alright (sometimes). No, I am not an advocate of mediocrity. But when life gives you potatoes, make french fries."

I often feel like I'm eating fast-food while browsing this site. However reading fanfiction is also one of my very favorite pastimes. I love the variety of styles, various characterizations, and the way you can cast and recast those awesome characters again and again. I also realize that you often have to dig through a lot of mediocrity (some of it quite good and exactly what I'm looking for) to find those gems of greatness, but it's always worth it once I find one. (And I will say that some of those stories are quite easily feasts that keep me captivated all day and night.)

Btw. Anyone who might be interested in why I only have one unfinished fanfic posted is because I started writing Strangerchild when I was twelve, and then got mad at myself for not being able to write it correctly. Later I realized that inability stemmed from the fact I had not yet had the experiences necessary to write the characters' emotions in a comprehensive and believable manner, and the story was too serious to disregard those important elements. I've considered writing another fic recently but that doesn't seem likely to happen. If I do, I won't post it until I have a good idea of where it's going.

Linnorria of Storm Head's Peak has always been different. First she wants to be a knight. Second she has a strange magic that no one can identify. This story tells how she comes to terms with her destiny.
