Author has written 13 stories for Harry Potter.

Soooooo... it's been awhile since I've been back to my page. However, I'm here now, so that should count for something, right? Actually, it was only in March that I was last here, so that's alright. Probably the last time I had update A Slight Mishap... which I've actually updated now! And I'm Still Here and Seeing Is Believing are still not ready, but the next chapters are definitely in the process of being written now! I just got to actually work up the will to get to them. Anyhow, I thought I'd come by and update my profile, most particularly the Ideas section, not to mention that I really detest poor spelling (in myself), thus I am going to go through and correct all the poor grammar and spelling that my overly-conscious-of-it thoughts managed to pick up.

Hi, I'm sapphire_angel_gem and I like to write stories, obviously. Else I wouldn't be here, would I? Once I found out about fanfiction, though, I decided that this was the perfect opportunity to see how well I write! So any constructive critisim you can give me would be much appreciated.

Anyway, just so you know, I'm one of those people that actually like rambling on pointlessly and telling people everything, so my profile should match that. I like to talk about all sorts of different things and if you get me onto a subject I like and am passionate about... well. Let's just say you'll be standing there for awhile. However, I have tried to magically transfigure my ramblings into enjoyable pieces of information! Hopefully my profile is a source of amusement, at the very least, and I'll update it every now and then. So, as I often say at the beginning of my stories (actually, I think I always say it...), Enjoy!

Complete

Baking Trouble- A fluffy one-shot in which Ginny makes a slight on men cooking and Harry takes offense to it, resulting in some unexpected consequences that would usually be involved with working in a magical kitchen and having no idea what to do with it.

Domino Effects- Set after fourth year. The Weasley boys are unsatisfied with the git Ginny had chosen to date, and believe that to keep their sister safe, there is only one git for the job.

Ignorance is Bliss- Set in the Slight Mishap universe. Severus Snape really wants to know how a two-year-old boy, namely one Harry Potter, could have made a rather intricate healing draught. Getting the information he wants is tricky, but when he gets it, he decides that he could really have done without knowing it.

Explanations of the Smaller Kind- I'm not entirely sure if this isn't pointless, but it was fun to write. It occurs in Chapter Eleven of A Slight Mishap and is about Albus Dumbledore finally explaining about little Harry's three lots of memories in terms Harry can understand.

His Secret- 'If there was any one thing you should know about my best friend it was that he liked to keep secrets. Big secrets.' Ron goes to see someone to get a lot of things off of his chest and to talk, in particular, about how worried he is about his best friend. May have a sequel. Slightly angsty.

His Mind- This is the sequel to His Secret. 'I have learnt that the best thing I can do when dealing with him is to keep my mouth shut'. This is an angsty one-shot from Hermione's point of view as she deals with the puzzle that is Harry's mind.

His Love- Sequel to His Secret and His Mind. 'Love is like a butterfly that doesn't want to be held down. Loving him is even more so'. Possibly the deepest one yet, a one-shot from Ginny's point of view as she talks about just how hard it is to love Harry when he doesn't understand how she could. Very angsty.

The Matchmaker- Albus Dumbledore finds that Valentines Day is quite boring, to say the least, considering there's really no one to talk to at all, and nothing to do. So, when he figures something out from a conversation between Ron Weasley and Harry Potter, he decides to give himself something to do. Humorous and slightly pointless, but fun none-the-less!

Weird Circumstances- Harry is having a really weird day, beginning when he sees rocks turning over of their own accord. From their the day gets progressively stranger, right up to the point where he meets Lord Voldemort in a muggle park. This was most definitely pointless... the only point of it is that it is funny and that it cheered my friend up when she was down!

Work-In-Progress

A Slight Mishap- In a desire to see something embarrassing happen to his most hated student, Professor Snape forces Harry to test an Ageing Solution that he knows is not complete. The result is a two-year-old Harry who is quite confused. Humour fic set in Harry's sixth year. Now featuring a four-year-old and still fairly confused Harry.

Seeing is Believing- The day before his birthday Harry opens his front door to find that he has a quite unexpected visitor who has come to take him to London for the day. While crossing a busy road an unexpected accident occurs that should have been fatal, but the fates would not allow it. Bought back to life, they'll have to wonder if maybe they hadn't been better off dying anyway compared to what they've started seeing... Starts holidays before fifth year and continues on into Harry's fifth year. Romance, humour, a little angst, action-adventure.

I'm Still Here- This is an alternate fifth year story, with significant changes to it. It will be, above all else, a story almost riddled with angst, though I will still have happy, and perhaps sometimes even humorous, moment in it, because too much angst is sometimes very hard to bear for me. The true point of the story is that something shall happen that means Harry might not quite make it until the end of the year, but I won't tell you why yet. If all goes well I might consider making a sequel to it. Maybe. I don't know how it'll happen, or why, but maybe.

Ideas

This is quite possibly one of the parts of this profile that changes the most because my feelings on my tentative ideas change and waver and whatnot, so I have to try and decided what I actually really want to be putting up later or whatnot. I've combined the Tentative Ideas with the Ideas Being Worked On sections... because, really, they're just the same section under different names these days. So now it is under Ideas.

To Tell A Lie- Ron decides a solemn Harry needs to loosen up a little and attempts to brew veritiserum, only he botches it up without realising it and the castastrophic results for poor Harry quickly makes him realise that it wasn't such a good idea after all.

His Life- Sequel to His Secret, His Mind and His Love. It is the last in the series. 'They all think there is something wrong with me. But there isn't, I swear there isn't'. An angsty one-shot from Harry's point of view as he talks about the hardships of his life and how he refuses to believe that there is anything wrong with him.

Wolf Child- I have decided to attempt to redo the Harry Potter series but with a twist. When Harry was five he was attacked by an un transformed werewolf, causing strange effects and he is forced into captivity until he finally escapes weeks before he is due at Hogwarts. A look into the life of an innocent, untrusting, wary, half-werewolf, Slytherin Harry who still manages to attract trouble and good friends. And with Voldemort already back to life, what else can this author's mind come up with?? (This is possible the one that I will put up next... it's already over a hundred pages! If you're reading this, let me know if you think it is interesting and I'll base what I do off that. If no one says anything... well, I'll think about it.)

Amulet of Iragodoune- There is a very old story of the Protector and the Destroyer and the Amulet of Iragondoune. But that's all it is, a story, a myth, a legend... right? Unfortunately, when Harry starts dreaming of the Amulet he realises that it is very real and his world is going to be in danger if he, as the Protector, doesn't find it before the Destroyer... I've been trying to write this story for years. In fact, it was the very first story I'd ever written! But I have started and re-started it so many times the plot is very different to the original, though the same basic idea of the Amulet is the same.

Drawing Fate- Divination is an imprecise art that only those with certain gifts can truly understand. Harry Potter was never any good at Divination, but then he finds that he does have a gift for one form of the art. Yet, it isn't a gift he particularly wants... after all, who wants to predict how they're going to die? -hums innocently- I very much like this idea. Because its got lots of twists and turns and poor Harry has to try and figure them all out before it's too late.

Alright, let's see what else I can put in. A booklist!

Favourite Books

Now, this is a rather long list, so I shall cut it down to be all time favourites, which is going to be quite difficult. Due to this list you shall also find out my favourite authors!

-The Harry Potter series by J.K Rowling

-Artemis Fowl and sequels by Eoin Colfer (also I love The Wishlist and The Supernaturalist by the same author)

-Eragon and Eldest by Christopher Paolini

-The four-book Troy Game series by Sara Douglass (though I can't say much for her endings)

-The Ill-Made Mute series by Cecilia Dart-Thornton (though she too has endings that make me want to throw the book at the wall. I have recently discovered the Crowthistle Chronicles, which are good too)

-Deltora Quest and, even above that, Rowan of Rin series by Emily Rodda (something about Rowan of Rin appeals to me more than Deltora Quest, though they're both excellent!)

-The Alex Rider series and The Power of Five series by Anthony Horowitz

-The Rhiannon's Ride series by Kate Forsythe

-The Thief Lord by Cornelia Funke

-The Giver by Lois Lowry

-Anything by Tamora Pierce

-Epic by Connor Kostick

-The Book of Lies and Master of the Books by James Maloney

I could go on and on and on I reckon! But I'd probably bore you all to death, so I won't. Those are my all time favourites... well, the favourites on my shelf anyway since they're right in front of me and handy to look at.

I don't watch a lot of movies, but I'm more partial to humour and cartoons than real-life action, though I do happen to like the Die Hard series and the Matrix series. Oh, and the Jason Bourne movies. I absolutely do not like horror and I'll shoot my friends if they even take me to see one again in a cinema (long story short, my friend convinced me to see my first horror movie with her in the cinema and it turned out to be Amitiville Horror. -shudders- I had nightmares for weeks). I adore Disney movies and songs and I have a soft spot for Anime cartoons such as Pokemon, Beyblade, Digimon, Astro Boy (recent and old)and Cardcaptors. They're a little babyish, I know, but I like them.

Nor do I watch tv shows much. In fact, there are only three shows that I really like; Heroes, Smallville and Stargate; SG1. I haven't seen Atlantis yet, so I can't pass judgment on it until I do.

I collect ornaments, books and, according to my mum, garbage. I like to cook and sew and my main hobbies are reading and writing. I'm the only girl my age who actually wants to gain weight instead of losing it (damn metabolism) and I want to be fit. I'm interested in psychology and child care, so I want to be a Youth Councillor or something like that. I also like to draw (-rolls eyes- actually, the only thing I can draw is manga, and I cannot paint whatsoever) and I am trying to learn to play the guitar while at the same time I have recently realised that I might be tone deaf. I love Dragons and mythology. Especially Fairies and Unicorns, too.

Quirky Little Sayings

-When you can't have what you want, it's time to start wanting what you have.

-If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving is not for you!

-Give a man a fish, and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish, and he eats for a lifetime.

-Who is more the fool? The fool? Or the fool who follows him? (I really don't like Starwars, but I was in my room one day while my siblings were watching it, and I heard this. Don't know which movie it was from though.)

-A beautiful person without kindness is like a flower without a scent. (My best friend came up with that one.)

-A simple friend will bail you out of jail. A true friend will be sitting beside you saying "well, we screwed up, but we had fun!"

-I have learned silence from the talkative, toleration from the intolerate, and kindness from the unkind. Yet, strangely, I am ungrateful to these teachers.

-If you don't know what you don't know, then ask! (A history teacher; took me awhile to realise what it meant...)

-If A equals success, then the formula is A=X+Y+Z. X is work. Y is play. Z is keep your mouth shut. (Apparently Albert Einstein said this.)

-He who asks is a fool for five minutes, but he who does not is a fool forever.

-It is better to be thought an idiot then to open your mouth and remove all doubt. (Hmmm, strangely that differs completely to the above saying!)

-Think of it not that I am a strange individual, merely that the rest of them are odd. (Albus Dumbledore, from my unloaded story Harry's Fifth Year.)

-Don't follow in my footsteps; I walk into walls.

-Sin has many tools, but a lie is the handle that fits them all.

There, a nice collections of little sayings (though no where near the collection I have floating around my room...) And now I'll give you a collections of some of my favourite sayings (ahem... not really, I suppose, they're more ones that I loved and that really caught my eye as I was reading the past couple of days =) ) from some random stories that I picked up!

Random Sayings from Equally Random (though Real) Stories

Once a moderately jolly wizard camped by a dried up water hole under the shade of a tree he was completely unable to identify. And he swore as he hacked and hacked at a can of beer, saying, 'What kind of idiots put beer in tins?'

-The Last Continent by Terry Pratchett

'A soft-boiled-egg tree?'

'Yes,' said the Senior Wrangler. 'Nicely runny. They're quite good with breadfruit soldiers.'

'You'll be telling me next he found a spoon tree...'

'Of course not.'

'Good.'

'It's a bush.'

-The Last Continent by Terry Pratchett

Even by Harry's low standards in Divination, the exam went very badly. He might as well have tried to see moving pictures on the desktop as in the stubbornly blank crystal ball; he lost his head completely during tea-leaf reading, saying it looked to him as though Professor Marchbanks would shortly be meeting a round, dark, soggy stranger, and rounded off the whole fiasco by mixing up the life and head lines on her palm and informing her that she ought to have died the previous Tuesday.

"Well, we were always going to fail that one," Ron said gloomily as they ascended the marble staircase. He had just made Harry feel rather better by telling him how he had told the examiner in detail about the ugly man with a wart on his nose in his crystal ball, only to look up and realise he had been describing his examiner's reflection.

-Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling

"I would assume that you were going to offer me refreshment," Dumbledore said to Uncle Vernon, "but the evidence so far suggests that that would be optimistic to the point of foolishness."

-Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling

But he understood at last what Dumbledore had been trying to tell him. It was, he thought, the difference between being dragged into the arena to face a battle to the death and walking into the arena with your head held high. Some people, perhaps, would say there was little to choose between the two way, but Dumbledore knew - and so do I, thought Harry with a rush of fierce pride, and so did my parents - that there was all the difference in the world.

-Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling

"...You don't usually ask so many questions about the limo driver. That's four in the past fifteen minutes. Will Maria be picking us up? Where do you think Maria is right now? How old do you think Maria is?"

Artemis rubbed his temples. "It's this blast puberty, Butler. Every time I see a pretty girl, I waste valuable mind space thinking about her. That girl at the restaurant for instance. I've glanced in her direction a dozen times in the past few minutes."

Butler gave the pretty girl in question an automatic bodyguard's once-over...

Butler patted his young charge on the shoulder. "It's normal to be distracted by girls. Natural. If you hadn't been so busy saving the world these past few years, it would have happened sooner."

"Nevertheless, I have to control it, Butler. I have things to do."

"Control puberty?" snorted the bodyguard. "If you manage that, you'll be the first."

"I usually am," said Artemis.

-Artemis Fowl and the Lost Colony by Eoin Colfer

And now, I'll speak about my own preferences in fanfiction! Hope I don't offend anyone out there!

My favourite ships are;

Harry/Ginny

Ron/Hermione

Luna/Neville

Remus/Tonks

Alright, very obviously canon ships. But I also have to admit to loving Harry/Hermione as well. It was, actually, the very first ship that I ever supported, even though I knew that it couldn't come into being. However, I am still secretly on that bandwagon (shhh!) because I still love them together. Even my mum, who has only seen parts of the movies, thought that they were going to be a couple! I also very much like Luna, she's one of my favourite characters, and I sometimes indulge in Harry/Luna, because it's just such a weird and funny pairing that I can't help but love it!

I like humour, and I like angst, which are completely at opposite ends of the spectrum! However, that's my writing, too... I'm very got at humour and I'm very good at making people cry -whistles innocently- not that I mean to. I've also been told I'm quite good at doing the whole evil persona thing in my writing, but I'm not sure about that. I also like stories that go places and do things, even if it isn't out-and-out action. I also quite like suspense, though I don't touch the horror stories.

I tolerate a lot of things in Harry Potter fanfictions. Unfortunately, there are a few things that I can't tolerate. Among these happen to be Harry/Snape slash, in particular. Admittedly, I have read a few stories with slash in them, but they are few and far between. I, personally, have nothing against slash... I just don't think it really belongs in Harry Potter.

However, this is fanfiction, so people can write whatever they want!

Well, I think I've rambled on and on enough for today, and I better finish before I bore you all to death (those of you that actually managed to make it this far, that is; virtual cookies for all of you who are still reading my profile page!)

Cheers!
