Obviously, I like to write stories. I happen to teach writing for a living, so I guess it's only fitting that I should also enjoy doing it.
Right now, my obsession is with "Traveler," a phenomenal show that should not have been canceled. I was a huge "Alias" fan when it was on the air, so I guess I have a soft spot for spies. I recently completed "Storybook," my prequel to "Traveler," which deals with Will and Maya's relationship, so please r&r that one if you're looking for a finished work to enjoy at your leisure.
Thanks to the wonderful and ever-lovely elf maiden Nariel Tinuviel (whose fics you totally need to check out, btw), I have also been turned on (ahem, ahem) to the truly kick-butt world of CSI:New York and CSI:Miami and, ok I admit it, CSI:. I may try out some CSI fanfic in the near future!
I've also written a Harry Potter story (my epic work "Beauty and the Beast" is, sadly, a permanent WIP, but "Summer Love" is complete) and a "Live Free or Die Hard" piece, just 'cause.
I don't read as much fan fiction as I would like to because of my work schedule - when I get a minute, I like to be writing. But when I do read, I try to review, though I never flame. Flaming is cruel. If I don't like something, I either offer constructive criticism or keep my opinions to myself.
I think the best part of writing fan fiction in the writer-reader interaction. My stories are always very influenced by my readers' responses as they progress. So, when you read my stuff (if you do), please review and I promise to take your opinions under advisement!
