I am currently under hiatus due to Academic demands. I'm preparing for my third year in Nursing and as most of you may know, it's not a walk in the park to go for excellence in the course, especially now that I'm slowly becoming mediocre-phobic. Aren't we all?

But anyway, I'm happy to say that even though I don't update my page so much, it doesn't mean I don't have stories to tell anymore. I do, but it's just that I still have to prioritize other things.

Hi. I'm currently distracted with a lot of things. So much has happened. We just concluded our Psychiatric exposure, and I don't think I'll ever look at life the way I used to. I've had flashes of fiction a couple of times, but I never wrote them down. Right now, I'm just trying to live. Ü

flashes of fiction (flashes.of.fiction) : noun. fragment. 1. a state when one becomes high with creativity that a scene of a story flashes through the author's mind 2. one of the many indications of stress, which is prevalent during the last six months of the year 3. food for reflection

I think I personally enjoy making up dialogues because when I went through my files, I discovered an old folder I created named "logs", which is a combination of "love" and "dialogues". But I don't see myself as a playwright in the future. So for now, they will be my medium for entertainment and outlet for my creativity (whenever the juices do leak out :p). I'll post a story soon.

In the meantime, here's something more recent. "Unused tickets" somehow sums up my status at the moment. (I was talking to myself here):

"why do you have so many of them?"
"i wasn't able to use them."
"i get that. but what i want to know is that why you weren't able to use them."
"must you ask?"

"uh, well, you don't have to answer if it's too personal."

"right, feeling all guilty now are we? your acting needs some sharpening. no scratch that, just don't try acting because it doesn't look good on you. anyway, at the time, i was certain i would go, but due to unfavorable circumstances, i wasn't able to. thus the reason why they remain with me."
"and what might be the 'unfavorable circumstances' be, oh mighty one?"
"that--i can't answer. sorry. try asking me again sometime in the future."
"how far into the future are you talking about?"
"about the time when one of us is married."
"ha! in other words, i can't ask anymore."
"hey you don't know that. maybe you'll get married. or who knows, maybe i might actually get into a relationship that will leave me happy."
"Or maybe one of us gets lucky and stays single 'til we die. but look, they're unused. still, you should have sold it before they became invalid."
"it's not as easy for me. i refuse to let them go just because life has other plans for me. i can't just sell my dreams just because it didn't work out the way i planned it at the last minute."
"whoa. a bit high on melodrama now, are we? we're talking about tickets here, not lifelong dreams."
"still, that's what they signify."
"so in your perspective, you still keep your dreams tucked inside your wallet, even if they're past their expiry?"

"we all have to hold on to something, right? some hold on to teddy bears, others hold on to persons, and you--you might be holding on to your achievements and medals. I've decided to hold on to my washed out dreams; those unused tickets that constantly remind me of what i missed. In a way, i don't regret not having used them because they keep me going."

Keep the stories alive. Let the music fly. (:
