~Welcome, and by the looks of things...be prepared!~
Well, thank you very much for checking out my page. I thought it badly needed an update, considering I had absolutely no info on myself. Thus, here we are. Now where should I start? I don't want to scare you off first thing, 'cause I mean what is that? About eight seconds of reading?
~A breif history of moi...~
When my grandfather was two years old, he and his parents sailed away from the great land of Russia, in search for a better life...I won't get into all that! Hi! The real name is Karla. I'm sure it means something cool in some grand language of a far-away nation, but I haven't looked into it. As you might have figured, I am very proud of my Russian heritage. Thanks to a few marriages since then, I am also Scottish and German. (snickers) I can definatly hold my liquor! All in all, though, I am proud to be Canadian! Second generation and all that. Natural brown hair (now purple thanks to some generic brand name) and green eyes, my siberian blood is still pretty thick. I'm of average height for a lady, about 5'7", though a little stocky. I'm not fat or skinny, but a nice medium.
Living in Calgary has had it's moments, but I like it. A great view of the Rocky Mountains, host of the '88 Olympic Winter Games, and a somewhat sucky hockey team, life is good. Oh and for all of you still 100 per cent certain we Canadians live in igloo's and drive dog sleds to work, you would be PARTIALLY wrong! That would be our Inuit peoples, and most of them live in houses, too. The dog sleds are up north, period. I live in the south, so not a lot of dog sled action here. And whats wrong with the beaver? Not a thing. They are a very dignified animal! I'm really just teasing, but you wouldn't believe the questions some people ask when I travel! Hey, it's not their fault, so I like to enlighten them.
~My writing...~
Well, I've been writing for as long as I've known my ABC's. It's a part of my life that I love, and I hope to never put it aside. A while ago I had been working on two different stories at one time. I'm sorry to say that my first fanfic, The Lights Within, has been dropped. In fact, I decided, with much regret, to delete the story. I know there were quite a number of fans that enjoyed that story, but there was no point in keeping it. See, when I had first thought of the story, I started it right away, with no plot in mind, and no thoughts on how to end it. As it began getting longer and longer, the story began to fall apart in front of me. Without a plot, I was unable to figure out where to take it, and no way to update it. That wouldn't have been fair to anyone, so I have decided that I will either re-write the story, or create a whole new Beyblade story, since the characters are so very interesting! Love 'em!
This is the first story I have ever dropped, let alone deleted, and I am very guilty about it! Also, you may remember that there were OC's on here a while ago. I have decided to drop those as well. If anyone wants to claim them for yourselves, e-mail me, and I will send you their profiles.
Currently, I am not working on anything, as school is very crazy right now. I have been thinking of plot lines for the sequel to 'Blood Is Thicker Than Water', and I have some up with a title so far. It will be named 'Shades of Grey Days'. I was walking through a book store when it came to me. I like it, so for all you BITTW fans, watch for it! As soon as school cools down a bit, I'll begin working on it! I'm also thinking of putting out a One Shot, just to get into writing again, and practise a little. Watch for that too. Also, for you Beyblade fans, I have just thought of a good plot line for a story. Not sure what it's going to be called, but it will be out soon as well. It's to try and rebound from the difficult decision of scrapping The Lights Within. I hope you'll all like it.
~Favorite Show's~
I like ANIME! I am not afraid to scream it to the world! And I hate how people make fun of others because of their personal preferences! Thats why they call it a PERSONAL preference! My favorite shows are: Beyblade (I like the characters nowadays, not the show anymore), FullMetal Alchemist, Wolf's Rain, Tsubasa, Naruto, Gundam Seed, Spiral, Fushigi Yuugi (the manga) and Chobits. There are too many others for me to tell, so that's why I'll stop here. I love anime for their drawing techniques, story lines and their strong use of cultural values. You really get to learn a lot!
Don't get me wrong though. I do watch other shows such as ER, Grey's Anatomy, Class of the Titans, CSI (all of 'em!), Lost, House, the Jetsons (always a classic!), and Hell's Kitchen. Even though I just entered college, I still enjoy a good cartoon when I see it! I think it runs in my families genes or something, 'cause my dad still likes watching Rocky and Bullwinkle. Who wouldn't? It's a great old cartoon!
~Favorite Books~
Thanks to my mother and fathers desperate attempts at a young age to make me literate, I love reading. I'm alway's hearing on the bus or around school "I hate reading" and "In English, we have to read this stupid book!". Everyone, GET OVER IT! Books are here to stay and frankly, I couldn't be happier about it. My favorite book series of all time is The Wheel of Time, by Robert Jordan! Amazing! Superb! Fantastic! Read it! I guarentee, you'll enjoy every page. Another good one is The Lord of The Rings, and Harry Potter (a given). I do enjoy Dilbert and Calvin and Hobbes every once in a while, just for a change. I love the higher levels of humour in those two. I just finished Eragon and Eldest, and they were amazing! Damn clifhanger endings...and I have to say the movie sucked! I was so disappointed! Fiction in general is nice, and a good adventure/mystery is always good. At the moment I'm reading nothing but textbooks, but if you have a book you really like, send me the name! I'd love to get into something other than criminal law!
