Current Frustrations of the DGM Fandom:
1.) The amount of genderbending. Once upon a time, this was a funny little device that made for great humor. I enjoyed seeing it, and lol-ed quite frequently. But this is seriously abused in the DGM section. You see it all the time, and it frustrates me to no end, mainly because it's used by people as a means of putting two male characters together that the writer would find compatible if one of them was a woman. I don't know about others, but to me it just sounds like a shonen-ai supporter in denial. This also bothers me because it tends to include all of the Allen's secretly a girl plots. Well, sorry but, he's not! Personally, I LIKE Allen as a male, love that he's such a cute BOY, and would never dare to take his gender from him and bend it around. Sometimes these can be okay, but overall, it bothers me, and the over-use of them makes them even more frustrating and bothersome.
2.) Stripping Kanda Yu of his masculinity. Why do it? I respect Kanda-pon's character, a lot, and though he's not my favorite DGM character, I hate to see people butcher him by making him some weak...uke. He's rude, prideful, cold and angry, for the most part. No, this does not mean I can't see him showing emotion sometimes, and no, this does not mean that I can't see him giving hugs or awkwardly kind words on occassion. But he's not a weak little sobbing boy who cuts his wrists in some dark corner, and just because he's got long hair doesn't mean he's femmy (have you LOOKED at his body? That's some pretty defined, masculine muscle...). Kanda's a strong character with pride, and too many people butcher that because, for some reason, they get it into their head that because he has long hair, he obviously secretly fanatasizes about being dominated. I think it's saddest that some huge Kanda fans treat him that way; abuse is always so sad. So, I'm proud to say that I'm a Kanda's Masculinity Supporter who never mistook him for a girl (that's right, not even when he was first introduced!~)!
3.) Authors insisting of making Kanda into the uke. Yes, this does tie in with number 2, but I felt it needs to be addressed, because man is it getting out of hand. It frustrates me so friggin' much, I honestly feel like screaming sometimes because I have never, EVER in my life seen a fandom so freakin' determined to take a strong, amazingly focused, determined, PRIDEFUL character into a sniveling weakling. Kanda's like, my fifth favorite of the series and I feel like people are slandering him, ruining him! They didn't even seem to give a care that they aren't writing him in character! They WANT him weak/pathetic/abused and it's soooo wrong that so many of his FANS want it. I mean, come on, he's pretty and he has long hair, but dammit, he's not like that and you all need to get a grip on it! He's not like that! If you only like him because he looks good, and that's why you think he needs to be sexually abused/paired with people he's never met and be screwed by them or anything else, you aren't very good at this game, are you? So yeah, as you can see, I do not support Uke!Kanda, because people cannot write it. They ruin Kanda, utterly. I may have to commit suicide if I see too much more of it. :is very aggravated: You think this would be happening to Allen, because he's at least small and cute, y'know?
4.) People treating Allen's "Black Side" as some sort of "inner Seme". What the heck, folks? It's a joke in the series! A JOKE. His Black Side proves nothing, and Allen isn't the type of guy to be so freakin...aggressive in these situations. He's a lover on most accounts, and (in this I'm referring mostly to Yullen) I believe that if it took him being on bottom for them to get somewhere he'd do it. Geez, why do so many Are/Kan fans mess things up so terribly? :wants to cry because her favorite pairing is being royally screwed: Do most Seme!Allen writers even TRY to keep him in character? If you're gonna do it, do it right people!

IT'S OFFICIAL! YULLEN WEEK'S A GO!
It's been decided, and Yullen Week is offically going to happen, so long as those interested become involved! Here I will explain just what Yullen Week will entail, when it will be held, and how you, the dedicated Yullen fan, can become involved.
Yullen Week is basically going to be a week out of the year dedicated to the KandaxAllen pairing. During this week, all Yullen fans participating will post either a one-shot or a chapter of a seven-part story for every day of the week. These pieces will be based off of a theme assigned for the day, though if someone really can't think of something, no Yullen fans would mind a change of theme, I'm sure. Every new participant is seven more stories for a single week, which is pretty impressive compared to the shortage of Yullen right now, no?
Yullen Week will be held from (Thursday) December 18th to (Wednesday) December 24th. This will give all participants plenty of time to write, and will make Yullen week an incredible Christmas gift for all Yullen fans, as well as a birthday celebration for our dearest Moyashi-chan!
Themes for Yullen Week are:
Thurs, December 18th: Seasonal
Fri, December 19th: Battle
Sat, December 20th: Comfort
Sun, December 21st: Protest
Mon, December 22nd: Playground
Tues, December 23rd: Steam
Wed, December 24th: Foreign
These theme can be interpreted however the writer wishes to read them, so long as the theme is present somewhere in someway~ For example, Seasonal can refer to anything from Seasons, to Holidays, to spices for food; it's all up to you
Other optional themes include (on the chance one cannot come up with something for the above): Leather, Gift, Shounen-ai, Oreos, Soba, Letters and Hats
One can become involved in Yullen Week by simply sending a PM message to either me or EATnRunBandit stating that you'd like to participate, then begin writing, and post your Yullen fics on the designated days! If you have any problems or concerns, you can contact one of us, and we'll be glad to help you out to the best of our abilities.
