this was the original biography passage of Adriene Turner
woohoo! somehow you've found your way onto my page! bad luck! anyhoo, what about me, yes me, this page is about me! well, i'm me! i'm 24 and gosh darnit would you believe me (probably not) i work at leavesdon studios, (i'm a gopher, you know gopher this, gopher that...etc) that means i actually get to work on Harry Potter, and other such films that come rolling through the door! it aint glamourous, hell no, but at least i get to talk to some famous people! get them coffee and such, and most of them are pretty nice. this also means that i live fairly close to london, so most weekends you can find me in the Equinox nightclub in leicester square! i got my user from a search engine thingamy, it was a lord of the rings thing i found, it means angel! mmm, what else, i have three cats called Orion (men in black) gabriel, and sirius (i couldnt get a dog, but the cat is black!) i have sixteen tattoos, i wont name them all, but the main one is a pheonix, all over my back, took ages! and it hurt! thats me for now!
Unfortunately Adrienne died this year, saddening all of us and a lot of you. but she left me her account ( my 'privelege' as beta reader, so she always said!) as a monument of sorts. i am also carrying on in her name (a name we both wrote under for quite a few years) and i hope to do her proud.
at the end of all things
hope and valour
It's been a while since i've updated the profile area, so a little something about myself!
Just approaching 30, female and living in a beautiful part of Wales that is wonderful for the creative muses that habitually dog at my life. i write for the simple pleasure of doing so, and i post fiction to share my love and to provide others with a moments respite from the more mundane aspects of our lives. I have have worked and trained in several areas of interest, from the arts to sciences, but have just been denied my application to study medicine due to an un-diagnosed neurological condition. Fiction creates an escape for us, allows us to meander (although with guidance) through the more pleasant lanes of our minds, and the allowance to walk those paths with our favourite characters allows us to widen our playing field, to let us explore our own characters and desires within the safety and confines of the rules laid out for us, testing them, bending the, even breaking them in an attempt to better understand ourselves and uncover truths that maybe we needed a little more help in finding.
Niel Gaiman once wrote that:
"Sometimes life is hard, things go wrong.
In life and in love, in business and in friendship and in health and in all other ways that life can go wrong.
and when life gets tough, this is what you should do:
make good art."
things have indeed gone wrong, things have gone wrong for all of us. but do not put your face to the ground. look up.
take the moment that you need to gather yourself, and pull back your shoulders, you don't have to smile, you need never say you are sorry, but take what you feel you cannot show and pour it out. write. draw. paint. these tangible things will hold that which has hurt you, and these tangible things you can control.
there are those who will read this and scoff...
...and then there is you. you understand. you will smile to know that there are those who understand. and you will hold your chin a little higher, and i shall apllaud you.
