Steppenwoelfin means "(female) wolf of the steppes" - a reference to Hermann Hesse's "Der Steppenwolf". In case you are wondering what my profile picture displays: it is the solar eclipse of 11th August 1999 during its total phase. The black disc is the moon obscuring the sun, and the lovely halo around it is the sun's corona.
I am a 27-year-old college graduate with a Master's degree and can't stay away from the keyboard or from my pen and notebook - the last two items accompany me everywhere and are rather battered. I live in Switzerland but am originally Indian. I am a bundle of insanity with a misguidingly innocent and girlish appearance including a pair of enormous soulful eyes :-) However, I am also equipped with a shockingly sarcastic tongue and repertoire of caustic Snape-ish comments which keep annoying people at bay...But usually, I prefer solving things the polite way, so don't worry. As long as there are no flames!! And, of course, I have a definitely un-innocent mind...And since many people have asked me: English and German are my native/first languages while French (I won't include Latin, which I took in High School) is my second language.
I started with writing by submitting my stuff on fanfiction.net. That was six years ago. Then, after about two years of writing fan fiction, I completely abandoned this account and established myself on fictionpress.com, where I have posted and still post mainly short stories and poetry. But after reading all the Harry Potter books, one after the other, a few weeks ago, the fan fiction bug bit me again...and I decided to come back here and post Snarry stories. I also started a Snarry blog in November 2007; you can view it here.
If you want to check out my original fiction (warning: most of it is angsty and reeks of disillusionment), you can find it here.
Some readers have asked me whether I have a beta reader. No, I do not - I proofread my own stories. The result is that there are still errors after posting. The best solution for me is to stay away from what I have written for two hours or so, and then proofread it. If I read my stuff as soon as I've written it, I am kind of "blind" to my own errors. Unfortunately, I can't always wait for an hour or two...:-D
22nd August 2008:
I have added (some time ago, actually, but I forgot to mention it) a feed to my Snarry blog so you can subscribe to the posts and/or comments. If you choose to subscribe via “atom” and you get a weird page with html code and a yellow bar at the top of the page saying, “This is an Atom formatted XML site feed”, just click on the back button of your browser and click on “Atom” again – it will work the second time. I am also pleased to announce that the Snarry Files has undergone a major update, now sporting a new layout.

You can view the drawing by Aislin Avalbane for Tears of Healing over here. Warning: mature content! Also, check my blog post for more information on the two Greek legends used in Tears of Healing.
