ME:

Hi! My name is Isi, I live in England and I'm a slightly crazy seventeen year old, who spends far to much time online. I read an awful lot in several fandoms but often don’t update for months at a time, though I’m writing CONSTANTLY. I'm slightly obsessed with everything and anything even remotely to do with my favourite fandoms, which are Harry Potter, Doctor Who and Torchwood, House, Stargate: Atlantis, Smallville, Star Trek: TNG, Artemis Fowl, CSI: LV and Stargate SG1. In that order.

MY WRITING:

My problem is I write too much. Far too much. Here I only have a few fics online but I have loads more being written. LOADS. Mainly slash I'll admit, lots of yummy Harry/Tom and Harry/Draco and bits of loads of others. I’m also currently on a long fic spree- Love From Afar is planned to have 30 chapters, while a HP/LV trilogy that I am just starting to really get into is expected to have over 200 chapters. As it that’s not enough, I’m also starting to really get back into gen fics. At the moment I’m planning two as well as The Other Letter, though I don’t have time to actually start writing them. So loads.

I have also started writing a serious, proper fiction book which is coming along nicely and I am hoping to get published some day. So that takes up a lot of my time.

With Simply Slytherin, I am writing it, I promise. It has a half plot thingy that I am not throwing away. I have just gone cold on it at the moment, half way through planning Chapter Seven. But I will not give it up!

I am now officially dropping Harry Potter and The Eye of the Storm and Artemis Fowl: The Cracked Reflection. They will remain up online but unfinished, and I will put up any remaining chapters that I have lying around.

This is because Artemis Fowl: The Opal Deception came out in 2005, and the fifth book, Artemis Fowl and the Lost Colony came out [in England at any rate in early August 2006. Both are good, although TLC is much better than OD. At any rate, I don’t feel the need or desire to continue Cracked Reflection any more- it was quite experimental at any rate… although I have to say, some parts are slightly similar to TLC…

Also, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince came out, and was, as hoped and expected, rather excellent. And also really rather slashy in many respects, hmmm? And then of course she ended the series with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows which I adore and always will.

MY READING:

I confess I love slash. LOTS AND LOTS OF SLASH! In other news, I love decent Veela or Vampire fics, decent AUs and real world fics. I am tired of Harry-is-raped-by-his-uncle etc fics as a way to get Harry and Severus together. Don't you think he has enough problems as it is? That said there are a precious few that are written really well and are definitely worth trawling through the archives to find. Other sites I haunt, though nowhere near as frequently, are The Silver Snitch, The Restricted Section, Fiction Alley, and Skyehawke.

I have just gone through my favourite stories list and removed some fics. This does mean that all the fics on there are considered to be really great, rather than just good. It is not however a complete list of my favourites. Hopefully I’ll have the completed list up on my website as soon as it is finished.

I found Magnetic Attraction by Frizzy. I’m pretty sure that it was at Forever Fandom, so if you’re looking for it I think it’s up over there.

There is a distinct lack of Veela!Lucius, which will hopefully be remedied soon…

THINGS I HATE AND WHY:

Cho Chang is an annoying character that does nothing but upset Harry and certainly doesn’t deserve him. And she’s a sure sign he’s gay or bi; I mean, attracted to a pretty girl with a broomstick…? Harry/Ginny is the only canon pairing.

Hagrid in sexual situations. It’s just wrong. As is anything sexual including McGonagall, Dobby, Moody, Umbridge, Hedwig, Scabbers, or Buckbeak etc. Read my lips: It’s Just WRONG. This means YOU Anna!

Harry Potter is abused and raped and beaten fics that lack plot and stuff and exist solely to make Severus Snape fall in love with Harry. Harry has been abused his entire childhood already, and so have a number of people I know, so I don’t really think randomly making his Uncle decided to rape him is very real or sensible. At least come up with a decent plot to underlay the abuse people!

Death Eaters without a human side. Lucius Malfoy is a nasty person, but he obviously cares for Draco. Also

Fluffy Death Eaters are still death eaters and they still kill, maim and torture.

Everybody being gay/homophobic suddenly. Although at Hogwarts if there are 10 people in each year in each house and four houses and seven years that’s 280 people in the school (where did everyone go?) so I can play with 28 gays! And if there really are 1000, then I can have 100! Ahem.

OTHER STUFF:

I really enjoy beta work. At the moment I am (officially) beta-ing for 4 authors, but really want to take some more on, preferably in the pairings I mentioned, but I don't really mind, as long as it’s in my fandoms.

I got a flame! I'm so proud. I repeat: I have no problems with flames. I use them to flambé Christmas pudding.
