2006 Updates:
Wow! Has it really been 5 years
that I've been a member of FF.Net? I didn't even know time could fly by
THAT fast! And I've barely been active, writing-wise, having found a
pleasant distraction in a boyfriend and of course, work, school, my
band and my art. Anyway, I'm trying to make a comeback on FF.Net, but
not without my grudges about censorship issues and the fact that no
matter what file format I submit a document in, the editing system
somehow manages to muck it up so none of my multi-chapter fics are very
readable. SOMEBODY PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE GOD-AWFUL FORMATTING!
PLEASE!
In any case that the formatting system stays a
hopeless cause, I'll be forced to put up a personal website with more
of my stuff and make sure it's all readable to the general public, so
stay tuned for the link. I am still struggling with HTML and CSS and PHP

"When love beckons to you follow him,
Though his ways are hard and steep.
And when his wings enfold you yield to him,
Though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you.
And when he speaks to you believe in him,
Though his voice may shatter your dreams as the north wind lays waste the garden.
For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you. Even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning.
Even as he ascends to your height and caresses your tenderest branches that quiver in the sun,
So shall he descend to your roots and shake them in their clinging to the earth..."
NOTES:
Yes, I write Mary Sues.
It's
one of the most unavoidable obstacles when a writer dares to insert
original characters into any fandom. The reader may or may not agree, but whether you
and I like it or not, any original character inserted into a fandom is doomed to be a Mary Sue.
If there are people who find that so hard to believe and continue to
swear down writers who actually take the time to think these things
over and slave over a fic and try their best to overcome their fears of writing, then the challenge is for these pricks to step
forward and TRY to create their own fics with their own characters.
We'll see if your Sues aren't as Sue-ish as mine. You can give
your character a flawed personality and flawed physical features, but
as long as that character is thrust into a fandom, IT'S A MARY SUE. You can pile that character with personal issues but EVEN SO, it's a Sue.
You want to point out a fic wherein the original character ISN'T a Sue?
Good luck scouring the net for fic like that. And don't try pointing
out your own fic for me to read. Because even if I don't think it's a
Mary Sue, other people still think it's a Sue.
Instead
of telling me what I already know of my characters, go write
your own fic if you find my character so unsatisfactory. I deal with
grammar and composition. If you hate Mary Sues, you can TRY and tell
other writers who are still struggling to stop writing Mary Sues. Hell,
you might as well tell them to stop writing and kill their dreams if
you're so bitter and jaded. But you're not stopping me.
