Author has written 39 stories for Chronicles of Narnia, Ninja Assassin, Dragon Age, and Hellboy. I write for fun and to get better at wielding words into a cohesive whole. Constructive criticism, thoughts and impressions of my work are what make me actually decide to post. I have no problem working on my own and not sharing, sharing is done in the hopes of gaining further information to add to my repertoire of skills. There was a time when people actually respected the fact that it takes ten to twenty times longer to write than to read. Since things posted here are free, it really isn't too much to hope for more than many page hits, tons of favorites or alerts rather than actual concrit/feedback, as I view the first items as 'toss off reviews' (e.g. 'I like this keep writing' or 'cheerleader-y' which have value, but do not assist in my goal of getting better). It's a bit galling the amount of entitlement people have these days when something laboured over and loved dearly is read and consumed repeatedly by large numbers of people who cannot be bothered to say what they think. Due to this fact and how rampant it is in the Dragon Age fandom, I will only be posting entire chapters to my DW with teaser chunks posted here on FFN. For my loyal readers who have taken time to help me better myself as a writer, if you would like regular updates and access to my many DAO series, subscribe to my DW or my LJ, as new chapters will be locked to all except those on my flists. For those who do not have LJ or DW, PM me and we can work out another method of receiving regular updates. I am not averse to emailing chapters, or opening my GoogleDocs to a select few for viewing privileges only. While I have always appreciated climbing page hits, favorites and alerts, these things do not assist me in my goal of becoming a better wordsmith. If this is difficult to understand, then put yourself in my shoes, or any writer's shoes. People with books on shelves to sell receive reviews via the money spent by those who purchase those books. On this sort of forum, the only way to get better is to receive input. Input is what I ask and it should not be too much trouble, so this leaves me very frustrated, because I feel as though I am shouting down a well with very little feedback or echo. This is not a plea for reviews, merely a statement and explanation of my actions for those who may be confused as to why there is suddenly a change. Until such a time as I find a reason to post entire chapters here for DA, then this is how it will be. As for my Hellboy things, while concrit is welcome and hoped for, I will not be using this manner of dealing with the issue as the fandom is extremely small. So the posting of those chapters for Hellboy will be full chapters and posted as I get to them. P.S. I am aware that this sounds like I am on my high horse and soapbox, but that is not its intent - it is simply a statement of unvarnished truth. As for reviewers to my stories that on hold, as much as I am grateful to your reviews and thoughts, it is unlikely that I'll give in to pressure (rude pressure at that) to complete the stories that are on hold. Rudeness isn't appreciated and is generally ignored. You know who you are. "Yelling" at me is unlikely to endear me to your cause. When the muse abandons me, it abandons me. I can struggle and fight to get some stuff out, but if there's nothing there to drive me, well, then it's just not there. Chances are it will return, but I have plans for Lurking in the Shadows that actually involve taking it down, due to some of the crude demands sent my way.
