Rants: Gotta Love 'Em

Warning: Most of these rants have bashing. Flames will heat my home. Until summer comes. Damn.. now what do I do with them?

- Thank you fandom for creating rants.

Rant 1: Fangirls/Fanboys

Right. So. I admit to it. I am a fangirl. But I'm a healthy fangirl. I do not spend my entire life obsessing about 'whats-his-face' from 'something-rather' and wondering what it'd be like to screw him. They are not real. I know it's a heart breaker but they are fictional characters. FICTION. You do not own them. They do not love you. They can't love you. They don't exist. I'm sorry, did I just break your heart? You can not marry a fictional character... or maybe you can, who knows what people do in their spare time. They're fictional characters meaning the author can do whatever s/he wants with them. I guess that's kind of a double edged sword because it gives birth to self-inserts and mary-sues.

So ladies, please (I say ladies because I've never seen a man do this, 'though I'm pretty sure they exist.) do me a favor,
quit claiming they're 'yours' and he would never do that. Or screaming 'back-off bitch!!111' in your childish reviews. They don't exist. So stop with the claiming.

Rant 2: Suggestions to the Author(s)

A bit of a lighter rant that's been bothering me. Yes. I know the whole 'freedom of speech' thing. Trust me, I voice my opinions whenever it's appropriate to. But keep this in mind lovely reading community. Not all authors appreciate your 'feedback'. And by 'feedback' I mean suggestions in altering the story. I don't know about most authors but at least for me I'm not going to change my story because some person didn't like an event and then go crying about it. Sorry, not happening. Half the authors don't even write for you! (SHOCK!) They write for themselves, because they enjoy it, or they get an ego-trip out of it. So, if an author asks for input on plot and such, go ahead, knock yourself out but be careful 'cause sometimes you might just come off sounding obnoxious.

Rant 3: Why the hell'd you click on it?

Uhm... if it says warning yaoi or BL or something, and you are strongly against any malexmale relationship why the hell do you go clicking on the story? I respect that yo have your own mind and opinion but jesus christ, who stuck a light post up your ass? Most of these stories have plenty of warning signs. You're an idiot if you can't bother to read a few A/N or something else that waves the little rainbow flag around. I mean, there's nothing you can do if there are no warning signs and the story just sucks, but if you already know you're going to hate it, just avoid it.

Rant 4: If you don't know the language, the -- are you doing writing it?

Seriously, if I see you writing in a language you don't know and I can tell (for example if I know the language and you've been using an online translator) SHAME ON YOU! SHAME! -anger-
