Take a second to read this so I can tell you a little bit more about me. About me: My name is Maaike. I'm a 23 year old girl from Holland with a vast number of fandoms (and it's still growing rapidly). I rolled into the world of fanfiction through Harry Potter around 2001, but only decided to create an account in 2004. I've tried my hand at some Harry Potter-fanficion, I even posted a few here, but most of them are removed. (Seriously, they sucked) If you want to know more about me, or be updated on the process of my writing, you are very welcome at my Livejournal. About my stories: I currently only have two Harry Potter fanfics listed here at fanfiction.net; You could say it was snowing and Story of my life. Both of them are oneshots. If you're looking for my multi-chaptered fics The Rising or Harry Potter and the Stones of Naribe I got bad news for you; they're cancelled. And they're not coming back. Sorry. My biggest project in the Superman-universe is Supermen, my 50 chapter baby. If you're reading this bio you probably know me from this fic. It's a post-SR Clois fic centered around Lois' life. It's got drama, romance, mystery, fluff, angst... pretty much everything. Superman is on hiatus, and I'm not sure if I'll be picking the project up again. Especially since I have another project to finish first. Then I've written several fics (mostly onehots) for the 12days_of_clois community at Livejournal. (I highly recommend you go over there and join the fun!) Christmas Challenge 2006 : Christmas Through Your Eyes Around the World Challenge 2007: A Whole New World (3 chapters, completed) Summer celebrations Challenge 2007: Breakfast at 7 I most recent project is Crossing Borders, set in Narnia. It's a multi-chaptered WiP... A WiP on hiatus, I'm afraid to say; the Narnia muse has completely deserted me. I'm not planning on leaving the story like this though. As soon as I find time and inspiration I intend to finish it. We are much closer to the end than you'd probably expect. In the mean time, go read some of my Narnia one shots. :) Possible future projects: The bad news: I'm not writing right now. The writing muse has deserted me, and I'm currently only reading. More bad news: I have once again been sucked into a different fandom (Naruto this time) so don't expect any activity in the Narnia/Harry Potter/Superman fandom from me any time soon. The good news: I love writing. I will pick it up again. Especially Crossing Borders, as I am determined to finish it. So if you're waiting for the new CB chapter; please be patient; I promise it will be written. I just don't know when. 09-23-2006 I've recently discovered the delights of beta-reading someone else's story, and I'd like to do that a lot more in the future. If there's any new talent looking for an editor (or old talents that somehow lost their first), just sent me a PM or something. Of course, seeing as I'm Dutch, I won't be much good when it comes down to spelling errors and grammatics and stuff, I can filter out typo's of course, but that's about it. So, if grammar is your problem, I might not be your best match. Instead I'll be looking at other things: story development, the chapter built-up, are you characters OOC, inconsistencies, does everything flow logically or do some things need to be explained a little further? All that jazz... So... if this sounds good to you, let me know... 10-09-2006 A couple of days ago I was just messing around on ffdotnet for a bit when I read something in someone's bio that really made me angry; apparently ffdotnet hosts the Bible as a catagory for fanfiction. I'm a Christian myself and although I'm not that religious, I just find this plain insulting. The Bible is no ordinary book. It is no fiction. And the mere suggestion that it could be the subject of fanfiction is .. well .. beyond words. Neither the Torah or the Koran or any religious book for that matter is hosted on this website. Ffdotnet only recognises the Bible. This is insulting to other religions. Luckily, a petition has been set up to stop this. Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Hindoe, any religion or no religion at all... I would like to ask all of you to take a moment to read the petition and sign if you agree!
