As of the day before St. Patrick's day, I will be 26 years old who greatly enjoy writing (duh), reading, and cartoons in foreign languages (also duh). I keep most of my fanfic writing to the Inuyasha series because I am most familiar with it after having seen every episode and movie before it started showing on American TV. (Sorry, I HATE the english version, the voices are all wrong and darn near every name is completely misspronounced due to American proclivity to place emphasis on the wrong syllable. I don't understand it, all you have to do is watch the original to find out how it's pronounced and say it that way...I could go on, but I would bore you). I first saw the series as a freshman in college back in 2001 (it didn't start on cartoon network until 2003) before then I would download episodes with fansubs off the internet (perfectly legal as no american company had rights to it yet). through this way I have seen all 167 episodes and 4 movies and am fully frustrated that Rumiko TAkahashi resolved NOTHING at the end of the series. Oh the EVILness!
I'm a not so recent college graduate with a bachelors degree in chemistry. So most of my writings will based on personal observatons of human nature around me imposed upon whatever characters I play with or create. I love to learn and have greatly missed school since I've graduated and have been looking into grad school for the future.
Insecurities between Us was my first fanfic posted anywhere. It is unique in that the chapters alternate points of view in a believable and overlapping manner that helps illustrate the full picture. The story is completely cannon universe and is also my shortest piece. It was actually started after Chornicles and finished long before the other story was. It mainly deals with Kagome and Inuyasha though there is a brief appearance of Sesshoumaru and some of the other characters. It is about friendship and the treatment of eachother and how that might affect individuals.
Chronicles of the Fall is my longest fanfic so far and was encouraged to be so in order to prove to myself that I could write something the length of a book and finish it. Ultimately when all the chapters are counted up (ignoring the individual parts) it will have about 63 chapters total. It may seem like a lot, but I've been writing it since March 11, 2002. That's five years. The past year or so has shown me that it could've been a lot less time if I hadn't done most of my early writing during those inevitable breaks most lectures have. Once I graduated, I wrote well over 20 chapters just in the last year that I was writing it.
The fic is set in the cannon universe but with a rather fun twist. I decided that it was fairly impossible for all the shards to be hunted down by just two factions (naraku and Inuyasha's group) that quickly. Heck even Rumiko Takahashi had different people collecting shards before it was left divied up between those two factions, but most of those people had no way to sense the shards, thus the birth of my idea.
I realize that the different parts or "books" as one reviewer called them are not clearly delineated with numbers. Therefore I give you this abbreviated outline:
I. REALITY ON VACATION
II. REASON OUT TO LUNCH
III. FISHING FOR SANITY
IV. SPELUNKING FOR COMMON SENSE
V. INSANITY ON THE LOOSE
VI. THE BINDINGS OF CONSCIENCE
VII. FLYING NONSENSE
I am quite done with it and the only work I may do with it in future is to move all the chapters into a single posting or a short set of side stories (basically all the stuff I left out) and maybe, someday when I'm really stressed out, a short continuation.
The last fanfic I posted here is Flights of Fancy and it seemed to be very well received among a certain set. It is loosely set in the cannon universe, but some might argue it is more AU-ish than not. At the start of the fic Sesshoumaru is already quite crazy. It's the result of a slow move into splintering his psyche as a direct result of his own actions. He did something an arrogant youkai lord might have done in the period he was living in that a person of today would find serious fault with. And he's paying for it mentally and through a vague physical pain. The fic goes into resolving his problem, I guess. I have a blast tormenting him before things get fixed though!
And just because nobody ever really reads these silly profile things, I'm going to put this right here, where it will go when I've finished IT. In the last week or so I've written quite a bit in an entirely new fanfic. Again it's something entirely new and different, slightly less cannon and a bit more original. (it's a progressional thing for me, apparently.) All our favorite Inuyasha characters have their place in it, and despite it being a whole new world for them I do try to keep true to their original personality...although, Kagome's pissed off through most of it and so is Sango. The fic is called FERAL and will not be nearly as light and fun as most the rest of my fics have been in the past. I wouldn't exactly call it humorous. The subject matter is very dark, but the companion sequal when I write it, will be lighter. The sister fic will be called WILD and Sesshoumaru will play more of a central roll in that one. But the first, well think of it as the first book of Chornicles. I set up the plot first and he's introduced but it's a while before his roll becomes anywhere near pivotal. Let me know what you think...if you see this at all. Buahahaha!
I do love reviews. I love being asked questions about the chapter content. I love using plot devices LONG after they've been introduced which often times creates confusion. If you ask me I will tell you where to find it in the fic. I know it like it was my child... which it kind of is. Comments are awesome too. I like comments, good, bad or indifferent. But, as most of my fics are already written and on their way to being typed up, I will not accept requests for certain things to happen. they either will or they won't. I won't stop updating something once I've started posting it because you don't like it, and I won't delete it unless I intend to repost it in some other format very quickly.
If issues arise as to the originality of some of my concepts, story ideas, characters, etc. Contact me and together we will compare dates. I keep the dates of chapters I've written start and finished. If somehow we find that I did by some accident actually take something from some other Author, I will give credit where credit is due, but I will not delete it. AS fanfic authors we con ask for no more. From start to finish we are borrowing someone else's Ideas.
